Exclusive: Jana Kramer Admits It's 'Hard' To Be A Single Mom Following Her Divorce, But She Now Knows How 'Strong I Am'

There have been a lot of changes in Jana Kramer's life ever since the news broke that she and Mike Caussin were getting divorced after six years of marriage.

However, the actress is trying to look on the bright side and soaking up time with her two kids, Jolie, 5, and Jace, 2.

"I mean, now that I am a single mom, it was really, really hard in the beginning to kind of find the time, and I had a really tough time figuring out my schedule. But it’s been a few months now, and I am definitely getting into the groove," the 37-year-old exclusively tells Morning Honey while talking about her LULUSIMONSTUDIO x Jana Kramer collab. "I am proud of how I have been able to kind of schedule things but also [take advantage] on my days off. I don’t have the kids this weekend, and I am like, 'I am going to go have fun, I am going to go hang out with some friends and enjoy my time and not just work the entire time.'"

The brunette beauty has been open about her relationship with Caussin and previously revealed that after he cheated on her, they were able to work through their issues. But this time around, Kramer decided it was best to move on.

In the past year, Kramer learned "just how strong I am. I didn’t think I had it in me, to be honest. I didn’t think I could do it, but I think strength comes when you’re at your weakest."

"I was always so afraid. It’s kind of sad to me how many women reach out and say, 'I just don’t know if I can do it,' and I get it, I felt the exact same thing, but then you realize, 'Wow, I can do this, I can do this by myself,'" the One Tree Hill alum explains. "It’s not easy but you can and you find your rhythm, and I think that is something that is really cool for me to realize — that I can do it, we are stronger, we are mamas, we have a lot more strength than we give ourselves credit [for]."

That's why Kramer was excited to work with LULUSIMONSTUDIO since she was able to come up with some fun and inspiring T-shirts that resemble her life. Some of the phrases include "Better Off," "Dare To Begin," "Girls Weekend" and more.

Kramer explains how she came up with the idea for the "Better Off" T-shirt. "I am better off and just kind of staying focused and the gratitude of that," she says of her life post-divorce. "There will be hard days, but there are going to be some really good days too and they are going to be a lot better than the days that I had and each day is going to get better."

"I think it was just one of those things where after obviously everything with the stage of life that I am in right now, it’s just kind of my mantra," she continues. "I am better off, I am going to dare to begin, I am a badass mama, I am enjoying a lot of my girls’ weekends every other weekend and just bring me some more wine. It’s one of those things where it was just very true to the moment that I am in right now. But I think 'Dare To Begin' is my favorite one. I love how soft the T-shirts are, and I was kind of in a place where I wanted to say what I wanted to say too and let my mamas have some stuff."

Since the Michigan native was always interested in a clothing line, this was the perfect opportunity.

"I like to be involved with things, whereas most people would say, 'I don’t know, do it, do it.' I am like, 'This is what the color is, I want this T-shirt to look like this, I want this one to say this.' I like to be very involved, because at the end of the day, it has my name on it, and it’s something that I am doing because I enjoy it."

The mom-of-two has dabbled in many things — acting, recording a podcast, writing a book and more — and she's happy that she has been able to explore so many different hobbies and jobs.

"You can create and do everything. I remember when I was on my record label, they said, 'No, you have to choose. I said, 'No, you don’t have to choose. I can do acting, I can do music, I can do a clothing line, I can do a podcast, I can write a book, I can be married, I have kids.' People are like, 'You don’t want to put baskets everywhere.' For me and how I operate, that is how I thrive. That is dreaming and creating and I think it’s good to have that, and I want my daughter to see that. When I tuck her into bed, she says, 'Mommy, what are you going to do?' I say, 'I am going to work, honey! Mama ain’t sleeping right now.' Time is precious and when the iron is hot, you just keep on cooking."
