To perfectly mimic the shot — in which Reese Witherspoon's character introduces herself to her Harvard classmates — the songwriter involved her pup, Dibs!
"Hi, I'm Elle Woods and this is Bruiser Woods. And we're both Gemini vegetarians," she mouths as the movie's lines play. "I have a Bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising from CULA and I was a Zeta Lambda Nu sweetheart, president of my sorority Delta Nu, and last year, I was homecoming queen."
"Oh, and two weeks ago I saw Cameron Diaz at Fred Segal and I talked her out of buying this truly heinous angora sweater," she quips as the scene ends. "Whoever said orange was the new pink is seriously disturbed."
Ballerini captioned her post, "In case you wonder what i do between tour rehearsals 🎀 👙👛💅🏼."
Much to the "The Other Girl" singer's delight, Witherspoon herself watched the clip and commented, "Nailed it! 💖," to which the Grammy nominee replied, "did i just get Elle Woods approval?! 🥰 love you reese 🤍."
The Big Little Lies lead is reprising her iconic role for a third Legally Blonde flick that's scheduled to hit theaters on May 22, 2022.
Dan Goor and Mindy Kaling wrote the screenplay for the movie. "Elle Woods is so iconic, proving you can be girly and smart at the same time," the Office alum declared as she confirmed the news. "Bend and snap people!"
"I can't wait to see what people will think of the way we wrote Elle Woods," Kaling shared. "We wrote Elle Woods at 40, so how Elle is at 40 versus how she was at 21 has been really fun to imagine."
While Witherspoon will also be a producer, many of her former costars — such as Jennifer Collidge and Luke Wilson — said they would be down to reprise their beloved roles.
