Webb — the man behind films like 500 Days of Summer and Spider-Man — has great confidence in 20-year-old Zegler even though she's new to the Hollywood scene.

"Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts," he stated. "Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale."

After the casting news broke, the young star tweeted, "I HAVE MANIFESTED MY ENTIRE LIFE I THINK I THINK."

The original flick, which is based on a story by the Brothers Grimm from the 1800s, debuted in 1937 and marks Disney's first animated movie.

"I feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory ... it has been the toughest experience being away from everything and everyone i’ve ever known, to feeling self doubt/ loneliness, but also feeling such freedom and perseverance as i’ve reached the end," the singer-actress continued.
