'Straw That Breaks the Camel's Back': Kamala Harris Moves out of Marital Home Amid Alleged Feud With Husband
In February 2026, former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff made headlines for being linked to a real estate transaction in Malibu.
The Malibu Times reported that the duo had purchased a $10 million estate in the Point Dume area near Zuma Beach.
Now, months after the reported purchase, Harris is said to have allegedly left her husband and settled into that pricey Malibu house.
With speculations of trouble in paradise and Harris’ plans to contest elections, the politician appears to have shifted focus to her work.
'That Was an Embarrassing Revelation'
According to a report by RadarOnline, Harris has shifted to her "perfect retreat" in Malibu to launch another campaign against President Donald Trump.
Sources close to the former vice president noted that this move comes amid her strained 11-year marriage to Emhoff.
“Kamala is focused on trying to win the Democratic nomination again -- with or without Doug's support,” an insider stated.
However, while Harris is keen on regaining her political position, sources also noted that the crack in her marriage emerged after she lost the 2024 presidential election to Trump.
Further, as Harris’ loss attracted scrutiny, Emhoff's previous affair with the family nanny which ended his first marriage, also resurfaced.
“That was an embarrassing revelation that did her candidacy no favors," an insider said, adding, “In fact, the demands on Emhoff during the entire campaign put a strain on their marriage.”
Therefore, if Harris focuses on winning and manages to make it work, there might be a possibility of salvaging her marriage.
However, as of now, while Harris has reportedly has moved out, sources confided in the media outlet that Emhoff still remains in their Brentwood home.
“He wants her to quit so they can go back to living a private life," the insider said.
While Harris is gearing up for another Oval Office bid, sources reveal that Emhoff is maintaining his distance because “another White House run will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.”
Kamala Harris Criticizes Supreme Court Ruling
Kamala Harris speaks about the Supreme Court’s redistricting ruling.
Meanwhile, Harris seems adamant about regaining her political stature as she raises her voice against the Supreme Court’s ruling permitting states to redraw and weaken Black-majority congressional districts.
She argued that the decision gave Republicans an opportunity to “cheat” before the upcoming midterm elections.
“What they have done with this decision, by saying that the politics of redistricting is okay, is they are backdooring racism through politics,” the former vice president told the nonprofit organization Emerge.
“What they are doing is intentionally… trying to suppress the voice of the people,” she stated.
Speaking to Emerge, Harris further raised the idea of a Supreme Court reform “including the notion of expanding the court.”
She said, “Let’s invite a discussion about how do we push for statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C.; how are we thinking about the Electoral College. We've got to neutralize this red-state cheating.”
Harris added, “There’s a brutality at play on the other side and a ruthlessness. And we need to play to win.”
