'Sounds a Little Insane': SNL Mocks Melania Trump Over Jeffrey Epstein Press Conference
The subject for the latest Saturday Night Live (SNL) skit was none other than Melania Trump, following her recent public statement on disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The skit also took a jab at the shaky peace negotiations between the U.S. and Iran amid escalating global tensions.
SNL's latest episode began with Ashley Padilla playing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who was seen working on President Donald Trump's much talked-about social media post shared last week, where he threatened the destruction of the entire Iranian civilization just hours before announcing the two-week-long ceasefire agreement.
James Austin Johnson, who plays Trump, dismisses Padilla (playing Leavitt) and calls golfing icon Tiger Woods, played by Kenan Thompson, to make a joke about the latter's recent DUI arrest.
Johnson's Trump then hangs up on Kenan's Woods. Following this, the president gets another call, but he does not seem to recognize the caller.
"Who's this? I don't recognize the number," Johnson's Trump says. On the other side of the call is Melania, played by Chloe Fineman. "You're calling me? That's not a good sign," the faux Trump quips.
Fineman's Melania then informs Johnson's Trump about her plans to hold a press conference at the White House, where she would strongly deny any connection with Epstein. "Uh, darling, I gotta admit, this sounds a little insane," Johnson's Trump replies. "Who are you? Me?" he adds.

Melania Trump Denies Having Any Ties to Jeffrey Epstein
Melania made headlines with her surprise press conference on Thursday, April 9, during which she denied any connection to Epstein. "The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today," she said.
The first lady then went on to read from a prepared statement, claiming that she never knew either Epstein or his convicted associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
She also said that Epstein did not introduce her to Trump, her husband. She then added that she was unaware of Epstein's crimes and concluded her statement by calling for public congressional hearings for Epstein survivors to testify to discover the truth.

SNL Skit Also Takes a Dig at Pete Hegseth, JD Vance
During the SNL skit, Fineman's Melania then proposes another idea. She suggests that in her address, she should also distance herself from the Gilgo Beach serial killer.
"I thought I could also say, 'I, Melania Trump, in no way, helped out the Gilgo Beach serial killer.' That way, no one is suspicious," the faux Melania says.
But Johnson's Trump is not convinced. "Darling, I think that's gonna make everyone way more suspicious," he says.
The faux president then hangs up on Fineman's Melania and calls Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, played by Colin Jost. Hegseth's ringtone is the song All Star by Smash Mouth.
The faux president asks Jost's Hegseth about the situation in Iran, and the latter assures him, saying, "Iran is as obliterated as me every Saturday night, allegedly."
Jost's Hegseth seems unhappy with the U.S.'s negotiations with Iran. However, Johnson's Trump reassures him that everything is under control as he has rigged the negotiations by sending his "secret weapon," Vice President JD Vance, to handle the negotiations.
"After those Iranians spend 20 hours talking to JD, they said, 'Please, sir, just go back to bombing us,'" Johnson's Trump says.
