Melania Trump reveals why she never had another kid with Donald Trump after the birth of their only child, Barron.
'I’m Completely Fine With One' — Why Melania Trump Refused to Have More Kids With Donald Trump
Over the years, people have grown curious about the personal lives of First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump. While much of the spotlight has been on politics and the president’s tenure, their family life has also caught attention.
After the couple welcomed their only child together – Barron Trump – in 2006, many have wondered whether they ever considered having more children. Turns out, while the 79-year-old was open to the idea of having more kids, the first lady wanted otherwise.
Why Did Melania Refuse to Have More Kids?
Speaking with Fox News’ Fox & Friends, Melania shared a rare and honest look into her family life with Trump. During the discussion, the first lady opened up about how the president actually wanted more kids after their son Barron was born in 2006.
However, she felt differently. Claiming to be content with just one child of her own, Melania mentioned how her life has always been busy. Further stating how the president has responsibilities of managing a country, she noted that she never wanted to add more work to their already busy life by having more children.
"I was always perfectly fine with one. And Donald was encouraging [us] to have more. And I said, like, 'I'm completely fine with one because it's [a] very busy life’,” she said. “I know how busy he is... and I'm in charge of everything. So that's why, it's just perfect,” Melania added.
Further adding how she manages most things at home while the president is busy with his work, the first lady noted that her responsibilities made her decision to not have more children even clearer. She also shared that life with her son Barron feels “perfect” to her.
While Barron is now studying at New York University, Melania is occupied with her work and being a stepmother to Donald’s four other children from his previous marriages.
Melania is ‘Fiercely Protective’ of Her Son
A video posted on X shows Melania Trump speaking about her son Barron Trump.
After sharing her thoughts on family life and parenting, Melania went on to give simple advice for blended families. During her interview, she said that people should accept others as they are and not try to control them. Adding that everyone is responsible for their own actions, including her husband and their children, the first lady noted the best way to deal with blended families is to let everyone be themselves.
“To take [an] individual as they are. You cannot control anyone. You could control only your own behavior, your own words. Everybody is in control of [their] own self. I'm not in control of my husband. I'm not in control of his children. I'm not even in control of my child. He's his own person,” she said.
While she made it clear that she does not control anyone in her family – not even her son – reports suggest a different side. According to a source quoted in a Substack report by journalist Rob Shuter, Melania is rather protective of her only son.
“He shows up for just a few fleeting moments. Melania is fiercely protective of him — she won’t let him speak freely or be put in any even slightly awkward situation,” the source shared. Referring to the first lady’s recently released documentary titled Melania, another source added, “Every single scene with Barron had to be approved by her. He exists in public only on her terms.”
