Big news just dropped in the WNBA, as the Chicago Sky recently traded star player Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream, for first-round draft picks in 2027 and '28. Considered one of the best rebounders in the WNBA, after the deal was announced, Reese took to her social media to drop her short response.
As of now, the trade has the potential to change things for both teams in a big way. The Dream is already a strong team, and adding Reese might make them even better. The deal comes after Reese had a fallout with the team and was later suspended during her second season.

After her big trade from the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream was confirmed on Monday morning, Angel Reese reacted on social media. She shared her excitement by posting, “An Angel’s DREAM, ATL WHAT UP?! @AtlantaDream” on X.
In addition to her post, Reese had also released a short statement via ESPN, saying she feels thankful for the chance to join the Dream. “I'm beyond grateful for the opportunity to join the Atlanta Dream organization," she said.
Reese continued, "I'm focused on continuing to grow my game, competing at the highest level, connecting with the fans, and giving everything I've got to the Dream.” She asserted on improving her game, playing at the highest level, connecting with fans, and giving her best to the team.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Angel Reese, despite her fallout with the Chicago Sky, did not ask for a trade. However, the Sky worked closely with her team to find the right home for her, showing there was no bad blood between the two sides.
"This trade is designed to achieve roster balance and represents a great opportunity for all parties," Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said. “Angel has achieved many record-breaking milestones in her first two years in the WNBA and has been a competitive force for the Sky. We are thankful for her many important contributions to this league and this game,”
What the Future Holds for Reese In Dream
Following her transition from the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream, Angel Reese is set to join a strong lineup in her new team. She will now play alongside talented guards Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard.
Gray had an amazing season last year and even finished fourth in MVP voting, while Howard continues to be one of the team’s key players. The Dream had a great run last season, finishing with a strong 30-14 record, which was the third-best in the league.
Meanwhile, Dream's general manager, Dan Padover shared his excitement about Reese joining the squad. He shared in a statement via The Mirror US, “Angel is a dynamic talent and a perfect fit for what we are building in Atlanta,”
