Back in 2025, the UFC made a surprising plan to host a fight card on the White House grounds. Even President Donald Trump liked the idea and encouraged it to be a part of America’s 250th birthday celebrations, on July 4, 2026.

However, in 2026, as the plan started to look more real, it was announced that the UFC crew would erect a 6-foot wire-mesh fence for the fighters during a June 14 mixed martial arts show timed for Trump's 80th birthday. And that's where the excitement plummeted.

Some people in the MMA world are already raising questions, and UFC commentator Joe Rogan also voiced his concerns.

MMA Joey wants the UFC White House event to get canceled.

UFC’s bold plan to host a fight event at the White House on Donald Trump's 80th birthday is now facing growing criticism. While many fans initially thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime moment, doubts are slowly creeping in, as people are questioning its logistics.

As it was reported that a 6-foot wire-mesh fence would be erected on the White House grounds, the special setup has raised concerns. The MMA media and fans are asking how the crowd will enter, how security will be managed, and whether the event can run smoothly at such a sensitive location.

MMA Joey has also mocked the idea on his social media, saying he expects the event to be “postponed” or even cancelled. “I can’t wait for the UFC White House card to get ‘postponed’ aka cancelled. It’s going to be absolutely hilarious & the biggest waste of time in the history of the sport,” he wrote.

Joe Rogan warns Dana White about the UFC event at the white house

In addition to MMA Joey's comments, UFC commentator Joe Rogan has also warned the UFC president Dana White to be very careful. After White spoke about the event during an interview and made it clear that fans should not expect easy access, Rogan shared his worries.

White said people won’t get tickets to the actual White House setup, but promised a special experience nearby that would feel unique. “You're obviously not getting a ticket to the White House event, right. It's not happening, but the experience that we're gonna create like right there in the park is gonna be like a one of one experience.”

Following White’s comments, Rogan spoke about his concerns on the Joe Rogan Experience, with comedian Mark Normand. He said hosting such a big fight event near the White House sounds like a “dumb idea” because of safety risks.

“It will be weird, having this high-profile event where everybody is in one place at one time right there,” Rogan said. “It seems like you’re asking [for trouble],” He explained, bringing a huge crowd together at such a sensitive place could attract trouble. Joe Rogan further added that it feels like the UFC might be taking a big risk with this plan.
