On a number of occasions, podcaster Joe Rogan has shown that microphones don’t always come with a filter button, drawing heavy scrutiny from netizens. During a recent episode of his podcast with co-host and comedian Mark Normand, Rogan decided to take a detour and talk about Charlie Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk.

Rogan and Normand discussed topics like the Iran war, Charlie’s assassination and President Donald Trump's strategies, and then digressed to mock Erika’s appearance. This didn't sit well with netizens. Rogan’s “crazy eyes” remark about the 37-year-old mother of two appeared to land flat as it sparked backlash on social media.

What Did Rogan Say About Erika?

In this video clip as part of a post on X, Joe Rogan is seen talking about Erika Kirk during a recent episode of his podcast.

During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience on Friday, March 20, the podcaster found himself in hot water after making controversial comments about Erika. Rogan and Normand initially discussed serious topics like the assassination of Charlie, global tensions and Trump’s strategies.

However, the conversation quickly took an unexpected turn. The duo began discussing Erika’s appearance, her love life and her eyes. Calling the 37-year-old “an odd duck,” Rogan began mocking her expressions, even referencing a supposed compilation of her making “crazy eyes.”

“[Have] you ever seen the compilation of her making crazy eyes? There's a video of her making demon eyes. And every time she makes the eyes, the music is so ridiculous…” Rogan said. Following his comments, Rogan played a video of the Turning Point USA CEO speaking with Bari Weiss, pointing out her facial expressions.

He went on to describe it as “demon eyes,” adding dramatic commentary about the music in those clips. Further, Rogan also made unusual claims about her past, suggesting she appeared in “weird CIA films” related to electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attacks and power grids.

"She was in some weird CIA films, some weird internal films that she was a part of. It is very weird, it's about EMP attacks and power grids,” he said. While Normand participated in the conversation and added his own comments, audiences weren't pleased with Rogan's remarks.

Rogan's Remarks Irk Netizens

Soon after Rogan's podcast went viral on social media, netizens wasted no time in slamming the 58-year-old. What was said on a podcast quickly turned into a massive debate, with people calling it “disgusting” and unnecessary.

One user wrote, "What has happened to these people? Truly evil," while another added, "I've lost my respect for him. I wouldn't have thought he would stoop so low.” Soon enough, the outrage kept growing, with some even saying they were “done” with Rogan for good.

“I'm officially done with Rogan; he is now in the same pond as Candace and Tucker,” one user stated. Comparing Rogan to voices like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, the user suggested that the podcaster now belongs in the same space.

Interestingly, amid the barrage of unsupportive comments, it was Owens who stood firmly on Rogan’s side. In a post on X, Owens informed fans that Rogan stays popular and on top as a podcaster because he says what “everyday people” think.

“Oh no! Another commentator to send a cease and desist to for the stating the obvious fact that Erika’s behavior, demeanor, and history is bizarre,” Owens wrote, adding, “Ever wonder how Joe Rogan stays on top? Because his conversations reflect how everyday people feel about various topics.”
