Alex Borstein has won SAG and Emmy Awards for playing Susie Myerson in Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but she admitted it is not always about the accolades at the end of the day.

"It's awesome to have that recognition. It's awesome to get a little bit more visibility. But the real win is that I won this show. It was six years of working with professionals, and there was no drama," the 52-year-old exclusively told Morning Honey at the Prime Video's fifth season premiere, which occurred in New York City on Tuesday, April 11.

The Hollywood starlet noted how important is to see so many strong women featured in the comedy series.

"Midge, Susie, Shirley, Rose," she said, referring to the character's names. "It's unheard of, really, and that's what I think the show has done. My biggest hope is that it's changed the landscape, and it's made it clear that a female-driven show can be funny and can be brilliant. It's not just one female at the helm."

"The statues are a beautiful bonus. There's visibility, but I want to get a movie made," she added.

Borstein is in denial about the show wrapping for good. "I refuse to believe it's the last time," she said. "I'm gonna keep showing up to set in my Susie hat and just see what happens. It's really hard. It's like a breakup, and it's like losing a huge family. It's losing a part of yourself since it's this character I've played for six years."

In the meantime, the Family Guy star has a new comedy special coming up called Alex Borstein: Corsets & Clown Suits, which premieres on April 18. "I like to say it's a filthy TED talk. There's a lot of storytelling set to music. It's about figuring out what I want now and my list post-divorce. It's about my experience. I want people to laugh."

"I want you to spend an hour just laughing while you iron or do the laundry. I want people to escape their day for a moment," she continued. "I don't know if there's other people struggling out there with divorce, but maybe it will help."

As for what else Borstein has up her sleeve, she wants to do a "really violent" movie. "I want to kill somebody on camera!" she quipped. "Is that terrible?"
