President Donald Trump said that current international tensions could interfere with his plans to go to his son Donald Trump Jr.'s wedding this weekend. He said that the timing is "not good" amid the crisis in Iran.

Don Jr. is marrying Bettina Anderson in a private ceremony in the Bahamas over Memorial weekend. The president indicated that he hoped to attend the nuptials but that he may not be able to make it as he tries to balance both presidential and family responsibilities.

The president was briefing the press when a news reporter asked him if he was attending his son's wedding over the weekend.

Trump seemed awkward as he shared that the answer was not as clear cut as a simple yes or no.

“He’d like me to go, but it’s going to be just a small little private affair, and I’m going to try and make it,” Trump said.

But the president quickly added, “This is not good timing for me. Everything called Iran and other things.”

Still, the candid answer revealed how carefully Trump is trying to manage his time even when it could conflict with important family events.

"Not good timing for me" Trump says about attending Don Jr. and Bettina Anderson's wedding.

Don Jr. and his fiancée Bettina Anderson's wedding plans have changed from what was previously reported.

Earlier reports revealed that the couple were initially wanting to have a high-profile wedding, possibly even on the South Lawn of the White House or even Mar-a-Lago.

However, a source told Page Six that the couple changed their plans because of how it would look to have a lavish wedding during an international conflict.

“They’re very aware that a lavish wedding at the White House while people are dying wouldn’t be well-received,” they said.

So, the couple are now having an intimate ceremony on a private island in the Bahamas with close family and friends.

Trump himself spoke about the position he found himself in. “That’s one I can’t win on,” he said Thursday. “If I do attend, I get killed. If I don’t attend, I get killed.”

Still, the president added, “Hopefully they’re going to have a great marriage.”

Melania Trump did not make it to the event.
