President Donald Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., became engaged to Bettina Anderson in December 2025. The socialite even had a lavish bridal shower earlier this month at Mar-a-Lago.
While the couple is reportedly expected to wed within the next few months, the latest report suggests that the president has no plans of hosting a White House wedding for his son.
According to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice newsletter on Substack, Trump has quietly turned down the idea of a White House wedding for his son, Trump Jr., and Bettina Anderson. A source familiar with the matter said, "Donald Trump Jr. isn't important enough to the president — not for something on that level."
The insider said Trump views the White House stage as reserved for "moments that elevate him and the Trump brand" adding that the wedding doesn’t do either. The source said Trump views the White House as a platform reserved for only the most high-impact family moments.

The source added that had the wedding involved Ivanka or Barron Trump, preparations would already be underway. “You’d have planning teams, press strategy, the full spectacle locked in. No hesitation,” the source said.
Nonetheless, in Trump Jr.’s case, despite discussion in social and political circles, White House officials say the idea has not even been raised. One White House official told reporters, "Though it would be beautiful, a wedding has not even been discussed at the White House at all."
Though Trump’s 48-year-old son remains in his father’s orbit, the insider said the family operates on a strict hierarchy that those around the president understand well. He mentioned that moments like these reveal who gets the most attention and who is left out.
Separately, Page Six reported earlier this week that the couple is expected to marry within the next few months. The report .also noted that invitations had not yet been sent despite preparations being underway.

The insider had also suggested that the couple was eyeing White House for the nuptials; he also predicted that it would be “extremely unlikely” that it would take place at the D.C. landmark.
It was followed by another report by TMZ, which stated that the couple was not in any rush to walk down the aisle. The report claimed that Trump Jr. and Bettina were still figuring out what their big day should be like.
Sources the outlet that no wedding date has been set and nothing has been finalized. Nonetheless, the report stated that the couple was considering two very different options.
One being “quick elopement within the next month,” followed by a larger celebration later on. The other option is a more traditional but low-key route. “A small ceremony in the next month or two with close family from both sides,” the insider stated, further adding that the wedding would still not take place in the White House even if the couple follows this plan. The location hasn’t been finalized yet.
Trump Jr. was previously married to Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018.
