Some social media users believe that the White House is using Melania Trump to help boost President Donald Trump's reportedly plummeting approval ratings.

On Wednesday, April 15, Fox News featured Melania Trump as she attended a bipartisan roundtable discussion on Capitol Hill to advance legislation that aims to protect and support youths in foster care.

During the discussion, she advocated for safe environments for children. "As parents and leaders, it is our ethical obligation to ensure American children develop emotionally and physically within a safe environment. As a community, we strive to nurture our children's curiosity, protect their innocence, and guide them with hearts full of care," the first lady said, the Irish Star reported.

Her appearance marked a rare visit to Capitol Hill, especially amid the growing criticism of her husband's actions in Iran.

Social Media Users Theorize Melania Is Being Used to Bolster Trump's Ratings

Melania's presence in the discussion sparked social media conversations, with many viewers theorizing that the Trump administration needs her help to improve the President's approval ratings.

According to the Irish Star, one person wrote, "Polling must be horrific if they keep having to roll out Melania." A second user reportedly opined that "Trump needs a Hail Mary pass. The war has screwed him over. Gas prices are skyrocketing. And the only card he has left...is his wife."

Another person said, "Melania just claimed ethical obligation while her husband's administration is still figuring out 'safe environment' actually means for kids," possibly referring to reports about a US airstrike on an Iranian elementary school that killed over a hundred young girls.

However, other social media users hailed the First Lady for backing legislative efforts on foster care. "Beautiful message from our First Lady. Protecting children's innocence and giving foster kids a real chance this is what true compassion looks like. Thank you, @FLOTUS," said one supporter.

"Protecting children's safety, emotional development, and foster care reform is a cause most people can get behind," tweeted someone else.

Trump in the Spotlight Amid US-Iran War

Melania's comments come as more and more people appear to oppose President Trump's war with Iran, which is now in its seventh week.

During the past few weeks, critics, conservatives, and former MAGA loyalists alike have called out Trump for his war against Iran that has hampered the economy and brought the affordability issue to the forefront yet again. People are reportedly angry about the expensive war funded by taxpayers' money and the lives of the US military.

Amid this, Trump has engaged in social media feuds with several public figures including former MAGA supporters such as Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and Candace Owens, all of whom have criticized his stance on the war.

Trump has also been at the receiving end of a strong vocal opposition from Pope Leo XIV, whom he accused of being "weak on crime," while also taking credit for his appointment as the leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

It is unclear if her appearances will affect the president's approval ratings.
