However, it appeared that the 79-year-old refused to answer questions from reporters regarding the matter.

After the shocking election defeat of Orbán, Trump was asked to address the former's loss during a conversation with reporters on Sunday (April 12) night at Joint Base Andrews. However, Trump just said, “Thank you very much,” and walked away.

Trump had once called Orbán a “true friend” and even his “twin” in Europe.

However, despite Trump's support for Orbán and his MAGA coalition admiring the former Hungarian leader's governing style, critics have accused the 62-year-old of weakening Hungary’s democracy and reducing checks on power.

Yet, the Trump administration sees his Fidesz party as a strong example of conservative politics.

“We hope you will vote for independent thinking and for someone who stands for Hungary First," and "We hope you will vote for my father's friend and ally,” Trump Jr. posted.

Despite the strong support, Orbán's defeat showed that Trump’s political influence may not be as strong outside the United States.

Moreover, Trump had announced on Truth Social that strong economic support would be provided to Hungary if Orbán stayed in power. “My Administration stands ready to use the full Economic Might of the United States to strengthen Hungary's Economy,” he wrote.

“As we have done for our Great Allies in the past, if Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the Hungarian People ever need it. We are excited to invest in the future Prosperity that will be generated by Orbán's continued Leadership!” Trump had shared.
