“She’s a Woke-Topus”: John N. Kennedy Lashes Out at Kamala Harris in an Explosive Fox News Interview

Senator and Donald Trump ally John N. Kennedy’s latest Fox News interview drew attention for his lashing out at Kamala Harris. The rant-laden interaction had him name-calling her in the most bizarre manner, which also earned the backlash of the viewers.

Kennedy joined Fox News host Peter Doocy on Sunday, May 17, 2026, on The Sunday Briefing to address the Louisiana elections, which witnessed Senator Bill Cassidy’s loss. Trump-backed candidates John Fleming and Julia Letlow advanced to the next round, where they will face the Democratic nominee in November.

However, the interaction centered on Kamala Harris, who had reportedly criticized the Republican Party during the Louisiana campaign trial. Kennedy initially mentioned, “I don't have anything against the vice president; I served in the Senate with her. However, he soon went on to mock her with some bizarre name-calling.

The former Louisiana State Treasurer said, “She's a woke-topus. She's pandering to the loon wing of her party. Nobody has ever accused the vice president of being a policy maven. Sometimes she acts like she has a billy goat brain and a mockingbird mouth, and that's a dangerous combination."

John N. Kennedy also took a dig at Kamala Harris losing to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, adding how she “had her shot and she missed it.” He furthermore mocked her and called her a “smoked turkey.”

Lashing out at the former Vice President, he said, “She had her chance, she had her shot, and she missed it. I don't think she'll be the Democratic nominee. I would love for her to be the Democratic nominee, and if it looks like she'll get any momentum, I will happily contribute to her campaign because she would be our dream candidate, but I think she's a smoked turkey, frankly."

He also shot a jibe at the Washington Post journalists for allegedly supporting Harris’ viewpoints. John N. Kennedy said, “I mean, the columnists at the Washington Post, for example, pay attention to what she says, but you know, those guys, they like kale and cold plunges, and carry NPR tote bags. I mean, they're members of the loon wing, and they like what the vice president says, but I don't think anybody else is that impressed."

Unfortunately for him, the Fox News viewers were not enamored with his name-calling and insulting Harris during the interview. He was heavily trolled by some of the viewers, one of whom also called him an embarrassment to the nation.

One of the social media users wrote, “I don't have anything against her' and went on to insult her. Another X user added, “Foghorn Leghorn is an embarrassment to this country. Hard to believe this guy was a Rhodes Scholar and used to be a Democrat for most of his political career. Now he acts like a MAGA idiot." A user on X went on to say, “He needs to make his way to the nearest old folks’ home.”

However, one of the X users instead praised John N. Kennedy and found his digs to be witty. The user wrote, “I absolutely love John N. Kennedy.” While another social media user posted, “Who needs a comedy special when you can watch a John N. Kennedy interview?”
