Kamala Harris questions Donald Trump's leadership.

On Friday May 8, Harris appeared as a guest at an event with Nevada Democrats, about the high stakes of the upcoming midterm elections. During the event, she talked about the current state of the United States, which has left her “concerned.”

Harris said that during her tenure as vice president, she met with more than 150 world leaders, including presidents, prime ministers, and chancellors

The former vice president mentioned how she maintained and “developed relationships with them.”

Harris stated, “Donald Trump is the first president of the United States of either party, Republican or Democrat, since World War II, who has thumbed his nose at the importance of America's relationships with our allies.”

The former vice president claimed that the president would sabotage those relationships.

She also said that Trump “calls them names, degrades them in the Oval Office.”

Harris cited reports from The Guardian regarding tense interactions between the Trump administration and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Further, the vice president referenced reports that Trump delayed a meeting with a Russian official to film a segment for a documentary about Hulk Hogan.

Harris remarked, “These foreign relations, it's really like relationships in your personal life... We have [to] mutually recognize the history of the relationship where we've been, what we've been through.”

However, the former vice president claimed that Trump has “abandoned” these relationships, making the nation look “unreliable as a friend.”

Harris also claimed that Trump has degraded relationships with allies in the NATO.

Kamala Harris Criticizes Donald Trump’s Decision to Declare War Against Iran

Harris also addressed the ongoing conflict in Iran, stating the American public does not support the war and claiming it was “not authorized” properly.

She emphasized that even if the decision to engage with Iran had been approved, the Trump administration should not have initiated it.

Harris called out Trump’s repeated threats to Iran, including the much-talked about Strait of Hormuz warning.

She expressed concern that military spending in the region is contributing to inflation in the U.S. economy.

The former vice president said that she believed instead of investing in the ongoing war in Iran, Trump should “invest in affordable healthcare and affordable housing and affordable child care and not in a war that nobody wants.”
