Karoline Leavitt Is Currently on Maternity Leave
The press secretary is currently on maternity leave and away from her White House duties.
Leavitt last conducted a press briefing following an April 24 shooting incident linked to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
During the press briefing, Leavitt strongly defended President Donald Trump's administration before stepping away temporarily to focus on her family.
Several senior White House officials are scheduled to rotate through the briefing room to answer questions from reporters during Leavitt's absence.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has temporarily assumed briefing duties for this week.
Meanwhile, the White House has not yet confirmed how long Leavitt’s maternity leave will last and when she is expected to fully return to her role as the press secretary.
