Karoline Leavitt Signs Off for Maternity Leave With One Remark About Trump That Nobody in That Room Missed
According to reports, Leavitt is expecting a baby girl next week and will take a temporary leave of absence.
Leavitt signed off by wishing the White House press corps well in her absence and said she was confident the rest of her team would serve the press well while she was gone. She added, “I know all of you have the president's phone number personally." Although Leavitt's remarks drew laughter, some observers noted undertones of frustration with the administration's media approach.
Karoline Leavitt gaggles with the press
Leavitt said, "On a personal matter this will likely be my last gaggle for some time. As you can see, I'm about to have a baby any minute, so I will see you guys very soon.” She further stated, "I know you'll be in very good hands with my team here at the White House - and I know all of you have the president's phone number personally so I have no doubt that you'll have no shortage of statements and news from this building while I'm gone."
Trump and Leavitt are a well-known pairing within the administration, but reported tensions have recently emerged between them and all these has led up to her maternity leave and The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Trump has been keeping Leavitt in the dark through what sources described as a game of "wait and see."
Besides, White House insiders have further stated that Trump has also taunted her saying she has leaked information to a journalist.
However, in return when she pressed who received the leak and what was exactly disclosed, he said that, she would have to wait and see.

Separately, since the escalation of military tensions with Iran, Trump has been fielding calls on his personal cell phone from a growing network of journalists. According to IrishStar, several aides have already cautioned the president against taking calls like these.
Trump's statements have eventually caused chaos as well as confusion throughout the country, according to the aides. Also, during one of these calls, CNN reported that the escalation in Iran was "ahead of schedule" in its four-week bombardment. Two weeks later, he told Time Magazine there was "no time limit."
The president has also said that there was "practically nothing left to target in Iran," and then eventually took it to his Truth Social, threatening to wipe out a "whole civilization" and that should Iran refuse his ceasefire demands.
