For the fans who love to watch their favorite celebrities attend the Met Gala, this question has often been asked. Do celebrities hold their pee for the 5-hour-long event, or do they take bathroom breaks?

For many stars, visiting the restroom isn’t so easy. The elaborate dresses frequently need a complete team effort to take off — and at times, they are entirely abandoned on the ground. According to the Washington Post, many designers have also tried to create subtle “trap doors” built into gowns, which help celebrities to manage the situation without fully altering the appearance.

Crafted from materials such as latex and spandex, Klum, who pulls off Met every time, drew inspiration from classical masterpieces like the Veiled Christ by Giuseppe Sammartino and the Veiled Vestal by Raffaele Monti to dazzle this year. While it is not clear how she relieved herself at the Met, many stars like Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry have broken their silence on the matter, per The Hollywood Reporter.

On Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the mom of four revealed that in case of an emergency, she peed her pants, adding, “Honestly, if it’s an emergency, I think I pee my pants and then have my sister wipe my leg up. I’m not even joking. She can wipe my leg up.”

During an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK, model Bella Hadid shed light on how she would not be able to pee for 4 hours, who wore a cat suit to the event in 2017. In 2023, Ashley Graham also revealed that everything but peeing would take place in the Met bathroom, which is also famous for group selfies.

Graham said, "This year, I cannot pee at all," the model and mom of three continued. "I can't get my dress off. So I've actually stopped drinking liquids at this point because I don't know how I'm going to pi--."

As reported by The Washington Post, holding urine for extended durations is not recommended. This can elevate the chances of developing a urinary tract infection, according to USC's Keck Medicine. Many doctors recommend that one should empty their bladder every three to four hours.
