Nicole Kidman and Daughter Sunday Rose Channel Real-Life Rapunzel with Matching Extensions at 2026 Met Gala

At the 2026 Met Gala, Nicole Kidman wowed all after rocking her longest hairdo in years, along with her model daughter, Sunday Rose. With the theme "Costume Art," the Metropolitan Museum of Art was transformed into a breathtaking gallery.

At the prestigious event, many celebrities showcased their style and were dressed to the nines. Nicole Kidman, too, along with Sunday, used the red carpet and the occasion to coordinate their looks of self-expression. Co-chaired by a powerhouse lineup including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, Lauren Sanchez, Hailey Bieber, and more, the guests used the theme as a medium to treat their own bodies as living canvases.

The Big Little Lies actress, who is also co-chairing the fashion fundraiser, showcased striking long hair near her waist while arriving at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This, according to reports, is Kidman's longest hairstyle in recent years.

Apart from styling her blonde hair straight for a seamless look flowing down near her waist, the Oscar winner completed her beautiful red gown with bold bangs.

Kidman dazzled in a bright red sequined dress from Chanel with feathery sleeves and feather details. According to the actress's longtime hairstylist Adir Abergel, Kidman and Sunday graced the red carpet by donning 60 centimeters of hair extensions each.

The hairstylist revealed, "For Nicole and Sunday’s first Met Gala together, I wanted to create a meaningful connection for this special moment. Hair became a subtle yet beautiful unifying thread, tying their looks together through a shared expression of modern elegance. Both looks are sleek and middle-parted, but when you gaze at them up close, you'll notice some low-key differences. Nicole's style, of course, featured eyelash-kissing fringe, while Sunday's long locks have a slight bend."

Nicole's hair is also reminding people of late '60s icon Peggy Lipton. In the 1960s and especially the '70s, this long hairstyle was incredibly popular among women, and Peggy Lipton's hair was considered an example.

The Eyes Wide Shut actress's hairstylist, Abergel, revealed how he prepared her hair. As reported by Who What Wear, he initially combed through Nicole's towel-dried hair with a Denman D38 Detangling Brush and then treated the strands with Virtue's Damage Reverse Serum and several pumps of the brand's Healing Oil. He said, "I began by blow-drying with a Denman paddle and Shark Beauty FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System to get the bangs to sweep perfectly and create just the right amount of shine and polish to the hair".

For the extensions, he used BHBD's 60-centimeter extensions in the shade 9NG/11N, which he claims matched Nicole's color and texture flawlessly. Adir added, "To finish the look, I warmed a few drops of Virtue’s Healing Oil between my hands, gently tilted her head, and smoothed it through her long, golden locks for an added veil of luster and shine".

For Sunday Rose, Abergel combed Virtue's 6-in-1 Styler through her tresses and applied a bit of Volumizing Primer at the roots before blow-drying. He used the same brush and Shark blow-dryer for a sleek, straight look, then incorporated BHBD extensions in the colors 5NG/6NG.

At her first Met Gala, the 17-year-old model wore a dusty pink, custom-made Dior gown.
