Simon Baker’s Ex-Wife Accused Nicole Kidman of “Breaking the Girl Code” After Romance Rumors

Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker have suddenly become a thing in Hollywood, after they were seen getting close at the Scarpetta premiere. The two held hands and stayed together at the afterparty, making fans wonder if something more is going on, especially in the wake of Kidman’s divorce from Keith Urban.

However, while both Kidman and Baker have avoided questions about the status of their relationship, new reports say the actor's ex-wife, Rebecca Rigg, has shared her thoughts. After the duo made headlines, Rigg shared her reaction, adding further curiosity to the situation.

As Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker caught everyone’s attention at the premiere of their new sci-fi project Scarpetta, some fans rooted for their budding connection. People cheered as the two walked in holding hands and looked very close while posing for photos. However, the news did not go down well with Simon’s ex-wife, Rebecca Rigg.

According to a source, Rigg was “totally in the dark” about Kidman and Baker’s growing bond. Further, claiming to have always maintained a “transparent” relationship with Baker, the source noted that her ex-husband's romantic move towards Nicole Kidman seemed “pretty insensitive,” to Rigg.

The insider further added, “For Nicole to act all coy is really breaking the girl code”, especially since she is the godmother to Baker and Rigg’s son Harry. Meanwhile, Kidman’s ex-husband, Keith Urban seemed equally upset with the news of this possible romance.

According to an insider, Urban felt “betrayed” although he had “already suspected they were getting close while filming.” They added, “This is his worst nightmare come true. He hates that they’re giving interviews about how close they are,”

Meanwhile, it all started after Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker, who portray a married couple working as forensic pathologists in the Prime Video thriller Scarpetta, were seen together at the New York City premiere.

A source confided in The Sun that the duo "stayed close all night and were deep in conversation" at the afterparty. They added, “Nicole and Simon's closeness is definitely the talk of the town right now,”

The source noted, “They're incredible together on screen and when you see them together in real life, that chemistry clearly wasn't faked.” However, this isn't their first onscreen collaboration where they portray husband and wife.

Back in 2022, they also portrayed a married couple in the Apple TV+ anthology series, Roar. Only this time, their collaboration comes after both Baker and Kidman have had major changes in their personal lives.

While Simon Baker finalized his divorce from Rebecca Rigg in 2020, Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban in 2025, after 19 years of marriage.
