Melania Trump's 'Scribbled' Outfit Under Fire as Netizens Find Bizarre 'Redacted' Epstein Files Connection

First lady Melania Trump's fashion choices have been subject to public scrutiny on a number of occasions in the past.

Recently, as Melania and President Donald Trump welcomed the Dutch Royals -- Queen Máxima and King Willem-Alexander -- to the White House, the first lady's dress became the topic of debate, yet again.

Melania wore a white midi dress by Erdem on the occasion.

The outfit had a cloqué design that featured a striking black floral appliqué on the front, while the intentionally textured, subtly crinkled fabric added an airy, lightweight touch to the overall look.

The first lady's outfit sparked discussions online, with some users comparing its black floral appliqué design to redacted documents from the Jeffrey Epstein files.

At the April 13 reception, Melania wore a white midi dress by Erdem and paired it with Christian Louboutin pumps.

Queen Máxima wore a burnt-orange midi dress by Claes Iversen -- a subtle nod to the Netherlands' national color, paired with brown leather "Gianvito 105" heels from Gianvito Rossi.

The men, on the other hand, wore navy suits.

Soon after photos from the event went viral, social media users couldn't help but notice the first lady's rather unique choice of dressing.

Particularly highlighting the cloqué design that featured bold black floral appliqué across the front, netizens compared the design to the “redacted Jeffrey Epstein files.”

"Melania's dress looks like redacted files,” one person wrote on Reddit.

Others added, “I was going to post ‘who scribbled all over her dress’ but yours is keeping more in theme with current events, so hat tip to you.”

Even on X, people called out her fashion choice by saying, “That's an unfortunate dress choice. It looks like cowhide.”

The comparisons emerged in the wake of Melania's April 9 White House statement addressing rumors about her alleged connection to Epstein, the late s*x offender.

Meanwhile, the comparison between her dress and the Department of Justice's (DOJ) redacted Epstein files appeared online after Melania Trump recently dropped a headline-making moment at the White House.

On April 9, as she delivered a six-minute televised statement, the First Lady reflected on the rumors about her connection with the late s*x offender.

In the six-minute televised address, she said, "The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today. The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect."

"I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation," she added.

Melania also said, "I've never been friends with Epstein. Donald and I were invited to the same parties as Epstein from time to time since overlapping in social circles is common in New York City and Palm Beach."

She also expressed support for Epstein's survivors and called for accountability.

The statement surprised some White House staff, including Trump, who said, "I didn't know anything about it."

The address came after an email Melania sent to Epstein-aide Ghislaine Maxwell surfaced among the approximately three million Epstein files released by the DOJ.
