Melania Trump privately asked Queen Camilla to pass on a personal message to Kate Middleton while saying goodbye to her at the end of the state visit. An expert lip reader revealed what was said between Melania and Camilla in the final moments of the royals visit to the White House at the end of April, reports the Irish Star.

Melania and Queen Camilla spoke briefly before she and her husband, King Charles III, got into the car that would whisk them away from the White House. The royal couple were being hosted by the Melania and Donald Trump during their state visit to the U.S. and Melania took the opportunity to say goodbye before they left.

According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, Melania told Camilla, “Good luck with everything and enjoy yourself,” before she added a more personal request.

“Send my love to Catherine and William and their children,” she is believed to have said, referencing Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their family.

Her move, to mention the future king and his wife, would help to strengthen the connection she made with the Prince and Princess of Wales when they met them in England last year.

Melania's apparent message to Kate seems to suggest that she really admires the princess, as has been previously suggested around the internet. The two women have met on occasion during official events, which included a joint appearance when the Trumps visited the U.K. in 2025.

Melania and the Princess of Wales really seemed to get along when the they joined the Scout Squirrels program for children, and helped the little ones with their arts and crafts. Both women have made working with children a priority.

At the time, Chief Scout Dwayne Fields described the interaction between the two women as "amazingly warm."

“They gave so much of themselves. It is easy for the young people to be overwhelmed, but they were settled and calm and enjoyed the day,” Fields said.

Melania also apparently wants to host Kate and William in the United States, which seems to support a respectful and friendly relationship.

The moment between Queen Camilla and the first lady came at the end of a visit that lasted a few days, and it highlighted the ties between the two countries. The visit included all sorts of functions including private meetings, more formal events like the elegant state dinner where Camilla shone in her evening wear, and symbolic gestures made by President Trump.

King Charles gave Trump a historic gift — a bell from a World War II-era British submarine — and described it as a symbol of the two nations’ shared history.

“May it stand as a testimony to our nations’ shared history and shining future,” the King said.

When the visit came to and end, Trump also gave them a warm goodbye, telling the royal couple: “It’s been very good to have you here. Have a safe flight. I’d like to see you again when we come over.”
