Melania Trump Flaunts Stunning $80K Custom Dior Gown at White House State Dinner
After an unwanted experience at the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner on Saturday, April 25, First Lady Melania Trump decided to change the mood and leave the global audience in awe.
As King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived in the United States to attend the White House state dinner, the first lady delivered a masterclass in modern elegance.
Dressed in a breathtaking head-to-toe Christian Dior Haute Couture ensemble, Melania made a striking entrance on Tuesday (April 28) evening.
With her outfit, the first lady not only left an impression of timeless and unmistakably high fashion, but also shut critics down, who previously called out her sense of style.
Melania Trump's State Dinner Outfit

After previously donning a double-breasted blazer and a sleek matching pencil skirt for the day, Melania featured in the stunning custom couture look by Christian Dior for the evening.
She wore a pale delphinium pink silk strapless gown, designed exclusively by Dior’s couture atelier.
Melania completed the outfit with off-white suede gloves by Dior, adding a classic touch often seen in traditional evening fashion.
For her footwear, Melania wore matching pale silk pumps which further enhanced the coordinated style, reflecting her preference for refined European luxury design.
Although exact costs are rarely ever disclosed, the prices of Dior haute couture gowns typically start between $60,000 and $80,000.
However, the final cost of Dior Haute Couture can always fluctuate, depending on the level of craftsmanship and custom detailing involved.
Further, her accessories raised the overall value of her ensemble, with her custom couture gloves ranging between $1,500 and $3,000, and her Dior silk pumps retailing from $1,750 to $2,700.
Overall, Melania's ensemble highlighted her elegance and knowledge of high-end fashion craftsmanship.
'I Always Wear What I Like'
This fashion statement comes in the wake of Melania facing criticism from Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour.
During a Vogue cover interview conducted by Greta Gerwig, as Streep and Wintour were asked how women should dress to “communicate power,” they failed to come up with a compliment for the first lady.
All Wintour could muster up for the first lady’s fashion sense was that she “always looks like herself when she dresses.”
Further, Streep criticized Melania, saying, “I think the most powerful message that our current first lady sent was in the coat that said ‘I Really Don’t Care, Do U?’ when she was going to see migrant children who were incarcerated.”
However, despite the criticism, Melania has made some rare comments about her style.
Speaking with Elle in 2016, she said, "I don't find it to be challenging. I style myself and choose what to wear based on what I feel good in. My style has stayed pretty consistent over the years. I always wear what I like and what is appropriate for the occasion."
