'I Am Plotting to Kill..': Donald Trump Assassination Plot Case Exposes Chilling Ambush Plans
A 29-year-old man allegedly threatened to assassinate President Donald Trump with a sniper rifle in disturbing messages he sent to the White House and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
According to RadarOnline, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that on March 17, 2026, Chicago-based Michael Kovko allegedly threatened to kill Trump, his 20-year-old son Barron Trump, and U.S. Secret Service agents in a series of “ambush” attacks.
'This Is a Serious Threat'
The DOJ alleged that Kovko sent a message to the official website of the White House, in which he threatened to shoot Trump with a “high caliber sniper rifle,” and then “saw Barron Trump’s head off.”
“I have absolutely every intent of plotting and carrying out an active assassination attempt against the President of the United States of America. This is a serious threat,” the suspect allegedly warned in his message.

“I’m going to take a serrated knife and saw Barron Trump’s head off after I successfully stake out the president of the United States with a high-caliber sniper rifle permanently aimed at the White House lawn from a local vantage point,” the threat read.
“I’m literally gonna find out how Barron Trump walks around in NYC or DC or wherever the [expletive] he is and run at him with a serrated bread knife and saw that [expletive] head off,” it added.
What Michael Kovco Wrote in His Message to CIA
On August 15, 2025, Kovco sent a message to the CIA, in which he allegedly admitted to plotting to kill the president.
“I am plotting to kill the president … in an ambush,” the message allegedly read. According to reports, the suspect allegedly said that he would use a “heavy caliber” anti-material rifle to assassinate Trump on the White House lawn.
“Please make a clear line of fire from the White House to Marine One on the president’s next departure from the garden,” Kovco allegedly wrote.
Michael Kovco Also Threatened to Kill Secret Service Agents
According to the DOJ, on March 19, 2026, the suspect sent another threatening message to kill U.S. Secret Service agents, just a couple of hours after two Secret Service task force officers showed up with a federal agent at his house in Chicago in response to the threats made on March 17.
“He better not tell me any identifying information at all like first or last name or pet name or address or place of work because I’m going to buy a small concealable firearm and go shoot up his place of work immediately if he tells me anything,” Kovco reportedly wrote in his March 19 message that he sent to the White House.
Federal investigators identified Kovco after he included personal contact information, such as his phone number and email address, in the messages.
He was later arrested on April 3, and, according to an April 9 press release from the DOJ, charged with transmitting a threat in interstate commerce. If found guilty, Kovko could face a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.
