Hannah Brown has always been obsessed with reading — but she never thought she would be releasing multiple romance novels throughout her career.
In 2024, the reality star released Mistakes We Never Made, co-written with Emily Larrabee, and now she's back with her second tome, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain, releasing on June 24.

Hannah Brown is 'excited' for her second romance novel to come out.
"I'm so excited. It's my second romance novel, which is so crazy to say. I'm really proud of this book. It's my second jab at the romance genre, and it was so fun to create. I heard that the second book gives you a bit of trouble because the first one went great, but I had this idea for a second for a while. The essence of the book is really about Sybil and who she is. She's all things good and messy and she has to go on a journey through some really chaotic moments that we never hope to find her in, such as being on a vacation, which should have been a honeymoon spot. But in these moments, she goes on a journey of self-love and being able to love herself again so that she can receive the love she deserves and being able to do the hard work and reflection and mess up and try again," the Bachelor in Paradise star, 30, exclusively tells Morning Honey. "There's a fake boyfriend, miscommunication and a second chance romance, but it also has a lot of depth."

Hannah Brown said the book is a fun way to 'escape' from reality.
Brown, who is getting married to Adam Woolard this summer, says she draws inspiration from her own life and things she feels "connected to."
"I feel like this book has a little bit of a Forgetting Sarah Marshall vibe. It's fun and you can escape. That's my hope! To write a character and make them full, you have to kind of connect something to yourself. I definitely did that with my own life, thoughts and feelings, but as far as the plot, that was more fun for me. I had an initial idea for my romance novel, which was about a group of four best friends. I had an idea of each of their personalities and how I could share their story in a way. I already had this idea of a fun, messy character who is entertaining. I wanted to dive into what makes a person that way and going back to her past and her relationships and what she has done wrong."

The duo are getting married this summer.
The blonde babe hopes that people notice she was "stretched" more as a writer. "I'm so thankful for having my co-author Emily for helping me, and we just took it to another level!" she shares. "Even when it comes to the writing. I would be like, 'I really want to be more descriptive with this setting. I want people to feel like they're in Hawaii. How do we push the writing in a way to make it better?' When it comes to Sybil, her life i a little bit more nuanced — and how do you bring those relatable emotional moments in? The thing I'm most proud of is that even though the first book was so amazing, and I feel like people really loved it, I wanted to push myself even more in this space and what I could give to the readers and make it an even more profound experience, so whatever the reader is needing in that moment, they can get that from reading this book."

The star was thrilled to develop Sybil more.
The Bachelor alum is also thrilled she got to develop Sybil more. "She was an unruly child. Sometimes it can be hard for people to like your female character, and I had to put that to the side because there are moments where Sybil makes mistakes and is unlikeable — but that is what makes her real. We all have those moments, and we see her grow and change. I wanted to write the good, bad and ugly of what makes her who she is. Sometimes when you have someone that's a little complicated, people abandon them, but I am glad I stuck to that."
Brown, who rose to fame after appearing on The Bachelor in 2018, was "so nervous" to release her first novel, however, it worked out for the best.

The book releases on June 24.
"Whenever you try anything new, you're like, 'I don't know how people are going to feel about this.' So, it was exciting to see so many people be shocked. I am from the reality TV world, and I think being this author was this head scratcher for some, but I think they were pleasantly surprised and that made me feel good. It was such a treat. Like anything I do, I try to do my very best," she says. "I put pressure on myself because I want it to be good, and so I feel like that has served me in life and that's why when I say I am really proud of something, I can be like, give it a chance! I'm hoping people continue to be surprised. I love shocking people, so I am going to keep doing that and leveling up for myself so I can do that."
From reality TV to writing books, Brown is determined to not be boxed into just one thing. "You want to be able to try other things an dreams, but for me, I could have never dreamt up some of the experiences I've had," she says. "I did not watch reality TV, I did not watch The Bachelor or Bachelorette right before the show. It wasn't something where I said, 'I'm going to do this,' but writing a novel has always been something that I've wanted to do. It's been really cool to be able to have opportunities that I've had because it's led me to be able to do the things that I've always dreamed of doing!"

The star always wanted to write a book!
"I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I've had and to be able to have people care about me and support me makes me happy," she continues. "I feel very blessed for that and will continue to do things that are authentic and true to me. I'm just going to keep riding the wave. I always say, 'Just do it scared' because you never know where it's going to take you. I was scared writing the second book, but I am going to keep trying. I am going to keep being as vulnerable as I can be and authentic. I don't know how to be any other way — and I think we can all relate to that. It's allowed me to continue to have opportunities like this!"
From the very beginning, Brown has all of these ideas about this core group of four women, which is why she hopes more books are in her future. "I would love to be able to continue telling their stories because I feel like they all have really awesome parts of themselves that we could all learn and root from," she explains.
