Financial Disclosures Reveal Kristi Noem and Her Husband Carried Up to $3.25 Million in Debt While Living Large

Kristi Noem’s lifestyle and her husband, Bryon Noem’s, alleged extravagant gifts to X-rated models were only indicating to their lavish net worth, but their financial situation has taken a dramatic turn in the current times. A financial disclosure report filed by her in 2024 revealed that the couple carried between $2.6 million and $3.25 million in debt.

According to the documents first published by the New York Post, Bryon took five sizable loans in 2015, 2021 and 2022. The first was listed as a mortgage on a commercial property from Bryant State Bank and was valued between $50,001 and $100,000 with a 15-year term.

Reportedly, in 2021, Bryon took out a business loan from Dacotah Bank totaling between $250,001 and $500,000. Bryon also took out another business loan for the same amount in 2022 from Dacotah Bank and another one from Reliabank for an amount over $1 million.

Not only this, but in the same year, he also took out another commercial property mortgage for $1 million from Reliabank. Reports state that apart from business and commercial loans, Bryon Noem, along with Kristi Noem, also took out a joint mortgage on their personal residence in 2022, which was valued between $100,001 and $250,000.

It remains unclear how many of the loans have been repaid, according to reports. A report in NOTUS also states that the former DHS secretary still holds more than $1 million in her political action committee, Keeping Republican Ideas Strong Timely and Inventive.

However, given Bryon Noem's reported cross-dressing scandal and Kristi Noem's rumored affair with adviser Corey Lewandowski, speculation about a potential divorce has been growing.

If this turns out to be true, then a large portion of this money might go into the legal fees. Overall, it seems that Kristi and Bryon’s days of a lavish and opulent lifestyle might soon witness a conclusion.

The financial woes and her husband’s ugly scandal are not the only two massive issues that the former DHS Secretary faced ever since she was fired by Donald Trump on March 6, 2026.

The department's plane, used for deportation operations but noted for its luxury amenities including multiple televisions, a bar and a queen-sized bed, has been taken over by the White House.

A report in the Wall Street Journal stated that Noem will no longer have access to the aircraft following her dismissal. According to reports, Melania Trump may gain access to the $70 million aircraft following Noem's departure.

It seems that after losing her job, Noem would also lose her perks to enjoy the MAGA jet to her service. Speculation is growing that Trump has effectively ended Noem's standing within MAGA circles and closed off her path to a return.
