Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has focused on a purported major shift in Americans' party preferences on the economy.

The former congresswoman recently shared a Fox News poll showing that Americans prefer Democrats over Republicans when it comes to the economy.

On Thursday, April 23, Greene took to her X account and shared a poll originally posted by senior political reporter Aaron Blake.

"Fox News poll shows Americans prefer Democrats to Republicans on the economy (D+4) for the first time since 2010," Blake's caption read.

Greene added to this and said, "Take into consideration that under Biden/Kamala and full Democrat control we hit 9 percent inflation."

She then claimed that the Donald Trump administration has been "failing" to lower the cost of living and work on domestic issues.

"But under Trump/JD and Republicans, they are failing so badly on cost of living and domestic issues that on a Fox News poll Americans prefer Democrats on the economy," she said.

What Does the Fox News Poll Show?

A new Fox News poll released on Wednesday, April 22, shows Democrats having an edge over the Republicans in the upcoming midterms.

According to the poll results, if elections were held today, 52 percent of voters would have backed Democrats, compared to 47 percent who would have supported Republicans.

That gives Democrats a 5-point edge within the poll's margin of error.

Both Trump and the economy received negative ratings from poll participants. In line with the trend over the last two years, around 73 percent of voters rated the economic landscape under Trump negatively.

Compared to 55 percent last April, 70 percent of voters now feel that the economy is getting worse.

Moreover, 60 percent also rated their personal financial situation negatively.

However, Republicans do not feel the same way.

"There is a strong partisan aspect to these economic views, with three times as many Republicans as Democrats rating the economy positively and four times as many Republicans saying it feels like conditions are getting better," reports Fox News

"Yet that optimism has limits, as more than half of Republicans say economic conditions (56%) and their personal finances (52%) are bad," the media outlet stated.

Most voters believe that prices for groceries (62 percent), gas (60 percent), healthcare (55 percent) and housing (52 percent) are "major" problems for their families.

Moreover, the survey revealed that inflation and the economy are the biggest issues America is facing at present, according to 26 percent and 17 percent of voters, respectively.

Greene's post on X received mixed reactions from netizens.

While some agreed with her, others continued to back the Trump administration.

"So, what you're saying is, you are so TDS brain-rotted, you'd actually believe any media poll (ALL skewed left) that has never accurately predicted support for Trump," wrote one user on X, before adding, "These are the same polls that never predicted a Trump victory in any election."

"Behold, we have a new queen of the Demoncrats," stated a second person.

Another user chimed in, saying, "Sit down, Marjorie. Stop cherry-picking this Fox poll garbage and peddling your weak conclusions. Support for President Trump among the voters who actually elected him remains rock-solid high."
