Series Creator Erin Foster Teases the Possibility of 'Nobody Wants This' Season 2: 'Conversations Have Definitely Started'
It sounds like we may be getting a lot more Adam Brody and Kristen Bell in the future!
As the world continues to obsess over Netflix's romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This, the show's creator, Erin Foster, gave a major hint about the possibility of a second season.
"The conversations have definitely started to happen about a potential Season 2. The story in Season 1 unfolds really slowly," the executive producer, 42, revealed in a recent interview.
"If there is a Season 2, I would want to just kind of pick up where we left off and continue to take it slow, because I don’t want us to get too far ahead of ourselves," she emphasized. "I mean, I want my show to be on the air as long as possible."
In the series, Brody plays a rabbi who falls in love with a non-Jewish podcaster (Bell) and how they try to make their romance work despite their different backgrounds. As Morning Honey previously reported, the Veronica Mars actress, 44, revealed she came out of retirement to work with The O.C. alum, 44, on the project.
"It was nothing but lovely," Bell said about teaming up with Brody. "I'm such a huge fan of Adam's work. I think creatively, he's so charged and so charismatic. He can make you want to stay with him even if he's a villain on screen."
"When I read this, I knew it had to be....on page two, I was like, 'This has to be Brody.' The character of Noah has to be aggressively charismatic where you just can't deny it. It has to be dripping off of them," the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star added.
The real-life bond between the two paid off with their intense on-screen chemistry and the caliber of the writers. "If two people are too similar, sometimes you need a little bit of different chords, different notes to harmonies. I didn't totally know how it would work," Brody explained in a recent interview. "I know that she's a lovely person and she's really talented, and I knew that the writing was really strong. All you can do is go in and do your best. You hope that it turns out, and again, I give a lot of credit to the writing."
"We’ve been together in different shows and nobody said, 'Your chemistry is amazing.' I mean, we had a great time working together and it certainly worked, but there’s a reason this time that the show is getting more of a response in this way. That has to do with the shape of the writing," he added.
