Candace Owens is demanding Turning Point USA (TPUSA) release video footage of Charlie Kirk allegedly saying he wanted his wife, Erika Kirk, to lead the organization if anything happened to him.

Owens has been raising questions about Erika taking over as TPUSA's CEO after founder and her long-time friend Charlie Kirk's assassination on the Utah Valley University campus on September 10, 2025. On March 27, 2026, Owens, 36, posted on X (formerly Twitter), asking why TPUSA would not share video proof of the audio played at the beginning of Amfest in December.

Candace Owens on Charlie Kirk's Alleged Audio

America Fest (AmFest), TPUSA's yearly convention, opened its first event after Charlie Kirk's killing, from December 18 to 21, 2025, with audio of the late conservative activist allegedly saying he wanted wife Erika Kirk to become TPUSA CEO if he passed away.

Owens has questioned Erika's potential takeover. "Something that I think about often is how Turning Point opened Amfest with an alleged audio of Charlie saying he wanted Erika to take over the organization if anything happened to him. Why won't they release the video? Surely, if they captured the audio they have the video," Owens wrote on X on Friday.

"The claim made is that at an Aspen retreat weeks before his death, Charlie answered a donor who asked 'what would happen if you died' to which he replied that he would want Erika to take over. I would like to see the video of that," the podcaster and political commentator added in a follow-up tweet.

Social Media Reacts to Candace Owens' X Post on Erika Kirk

Owens' questions to Erika Kirk quickly gained traction online, with many social media users sharing opinions on her demands to TPUSA.

"Releasing the full video would settle everything instead of raising more questions around context and credibility," one user commented. Owens replied, "Precisely. It would certainly go a long way in dispelling the narrative that Erika wanted his position for herself. Seems like an easy PR win to release the footage."

"Yes, if they can produce this I will S–U about my doubts that Charlie would have wanted this. I don't agree with his decision, if so. But I will accept the decision nonetheless," a second person wrote.

Social media reactions to Owens' demands split sharply, with some users calling the audio fake or AI-generated, while others defended Erika Kirk and criticized Owens.

"It's a fake audio, just like everything else they've done is fake since his assassination…Did Charlie even want Erika running TPUSA?" one person questioned. "They could have AI the audio. Erika looks like a well trained handler. Letting this [worm] speak on his event was the greatest betrayal Charlie got," said another.

However, others backed Erika and slammed Owens for attacking the 37-year-old widow and mother of two. "Why should they? Why do they owe you anything?" conservative podcaster Graham Allen retorted in support of Kirk. "I think there is more here to your obsession of Erika Kirk than meets the eye!" another user wrote.

Many outlets, such as The Mirror US, reported that Owens has been critical of Erika Kirk since Charlie's death. She has questioned his killing's circumstances and released a YouTube "investigative" series on Erika titled Bride of Charlie.
