‘Would Rather Get a Stroke’: Roseanne Barr Talks Heart Condition, Worried About Surgery
Roseanne Barr may soon have to undergo surgery to treat what she described as a "damaged heart." The 72-year-old comedian shared the health update with fans on the March 30 episode of The Roseanne Barr Podcast.
Barr brought up the diagnosis while discussing her plans to get a "ponytail facelift." "This doctor says I have to go get my heart checked out because it's damaged," she said.
She described herself as "p--sed" at the revelation. "I need a new doctor. He's always sending me to other doctors to check me out. And I'm like, 'why do I have to go find something wrong when nothing's wrong and then get in shape just so I can have surgery and die on the surgery table?'"
"I mean, it doesn't make any sense," Barr continued. "I would rather not get ready for any sort of surgery ever again in my life and just, you know, get a heart attack or a stroke and then just be put into the home. What do they call that place? Hospice."
In 2018, concern around Barr's health grew after a person claiming to be her assistant called a radio station and alleged she had suffered a heart attack. Barr quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, to dispel the rumors. "I'm fine," she wrote, adding that she was "a victim of a prank" and had no medical issues. "I'm spending time at home with my family and relaxing."

Roseanne Barr Opened Up About Her Past Injuries
In a separate interview with Fox News Digital, Barr spoke about her move to Texas and her new lifestyle, also revealing a series of recent injuries sustained while mowing her property.
"I'm doing a lot of mowing. I've got a really fantastic tractor out here, and I'm mowing. The only problem is I don't clear the trees quite as good as I should, and I'm always hitting a tree and knocking it over, and it always hits me in the head," she said.
"So, I've had several injuries recently. I had this one tree … I knocked it, and a great big old branch fell right on my head and trapped me in my tractor," Barr said. "So I knew I had to get out of there, and it weighed about a hundred pounds." She said it took nearly an hour to move the branch "inch by inch" before she could free herself.
Barr rose to fame through her hit ABC sitcom Roseanne. In 2018, she faced heavy backlash following a racist tweet about former President Barack Obama's advisor Valerie Jarrett, after which co-stars spoke out and ABC cancelled the show.
