Victoria Beckham finally shared her thoughts about “Brand Beckham” four months after Brooklyn Beckham said that his family cared more about their public image than their relationships.

Victoria spoke on Emma Grede’s Aspire podcast, and said that the Beckham brand “happened so organically” and was never intentionally built when she and husband David Beckham first became famous. The timing of her comments is interesting because while she talked about "Brand Beckham," she never directly responded to Brooklyn's most serious claims.

Victoria talked about how she and David Beckham were before becoming celebrities. She was a singer before she became a designer, while David was still making a name for himself as a rising soccer star. They were nowhere near the level of fame as they are now.

“Do you know when myself and David first met, it was never the intention to start a brand?” Victoria said. “People talk about ‘Brand Beckham,’ and that has happened so organically.”

She said that David’s early sponsorships were with brands like Adidas, Pepsi and Brylcreem while she was just getting into her role as Posh Spice. Victoria added that those were her first experiences with marketing and public identity, and she has obviously built on what she learned.

The mother of four also claimed that they were a traditional family, and that communication was the most important part of their relationship.

“We’ve always been very close. Communication is really key,” she explained. “At 6 o’clock every night at our house, so long as neither of us are traveling, we always eat dinner together.”

The fashion designer added that she and David wanted their children to become “hard-working” and “kind.”

Brooklyn Beckham’s comments still linger

Victoria's remarks about "Brand Beckham" are still being weighed because fans already knew about what Brooklyn Beckham had accused his parents of in January. He said that their family was all about public image even over family bonds.

“Brand Beckham comes first,” Brooklyn wrote at the time. “Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp.”

The eldest Beckham son also accused his parents of being controlling and said that they had tried to pressure him into signing away rights connected to his name before he married Nicola Peltz in 2022.

He also claimed that his mother canceled on designing Nicola's wedding gown at the "eleventh hour" and said that family tension escalated after he started to stand up for himself.

Brooklyn wrote that he didn't want to kiss and make up with his family. He also stated, “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

For years, David and Victoria Beckham portrayed the perfect family image on social media with coordinated public appearances and social media moments with their children. Brooklyn's claims seemed to challenge that.

But now, Victoria seems to be saying that her family's success was natural and not as strategic as her son claims.
