Matt Friend thought 'he'd be executed' after impersonating King Charles

The comedian's clip caught the attention of GB News, which featured him on their show in a conversation with presenter Bev Turner. Turner asked him, "What were you saying to the King... you were doing an impression of him, weren't you?" Laughing, Friend said, "That's right. I actually saw that clip and I was doing an impression of the King. I said, 'I've been studying you and trying to do you' and he looked at me quickly without missing a beat and he goes, 'Keep trying'. And then I thought, am I gonna get executed right now?"

He then added, "He couldn't have been nicer and I have to say, [in Donald Trump's voice] if I had another chance I would've said, listen to me Charles, it is terrific to usher you to the White House for dinner tomorrow. It's gonna be absolutely fantastic. We love the people of London and my mother had a very big crush on you and we know that, I said that last night."

King Charles and Queen Camilla are scheduled to travel to New York for several engagements, including a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
