Trump Assassination Attempt Back in Spotlight as New Theory Gains Buzz
Trump Assassination Attempt Conspiracy Theories Gain Traction—This Time From Inside MAGA Circles
During the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the country was thrown into chaos, with developments unfolding rapidly across the nation. Months later, that moment has resurfaced in an unexpected way.
Social media speculation is now gaining traction, with some claims emerging from within MAGA circles themselves. The renewed focus centers on the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.
According to The Daily Beast, claims have emerged that the attack may have been staged. Though there is no evidence to support the claim, discussion around the event hasn’t stopped, and has instead grown.
Trump assassination attempt
After gunshots were heard in the packed rally, Secret Service agents rushed in. People ducked amid the confusion, and an image soon emerged that would define the moment. Trump, back on his feet, fist raised, facing the crowd. It was over in seconds, but it became one of the most talked-about visuals of the campaign.
Later, he appeared with a bandage on his ear after due to reported injury from a bullet. The suspected shooter, Thomas Crooks, shot three people, one of whom died. He was killed by a Secret Service sniper at the scene.
At first, theories about the incident came from the political edges. But now, the narrative seems to have shifted. Similar claims are popping up in places much closer to Trump’s own base and that’s what’s turning heads.
Podcaster Tim Dillon was one of several figures amplifying the claim. “I think maybe it was staged,” he said. He even described how such a reveal might sound “Some people are going to be upset by this, but we staged the assassination attempt in Butler to show people how important it was to vote for me and how far I was willing to go for them.”

There have been plenty of reactions online. “I know a Mark Burnett production when I see one,” one user wrote on X, referencing the creator of The Apprentice. Other familiar names have added to the noise, though without presenting evidence. Tucker Carlson questioned whether all details had been revealed, while Joe Kent suggested investigations had not gone far enough.
And the posts keep coming. One user shared an image from shortly after the shooting and wrote, “Not even Wolverine heals that fast.” Similar claims have emerged previously. Within hours of the incident, a user on X expressed suspicion over the use of weapon.
They wrote, "Donald Trump continues to play in our faces!! This was SO staged!!! If someone REALLY wanted to take him out, they wouldn't use a BB Gun!!", reported the PBS.
The confirmed facts remain unchanged: a real shooting, real victims, and a gunman who was stopped at the scene. But online, the story isn’t settling. Instead, it’s evolving, spreading, and pulling more voices into a debate that shows no sign of slowing down.
