Taylor Swift kept her distance at a recent London party in what some are now saying was an attempt to keep her image squeaky clean. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie attended the same event, but Swift did not engage with the royals, reports Rob Shuter.

Swift and Travis Kelce attended Poppy Delevingne’s 40th birthday party in the city, and even though the royals were also at the bash, insiders claimed that Swift made a deliberate effort not to interact closely with them.

Taylor Swift reportedly stayed focused on avoiding royal controversy

Taylor Swift and the royals attended the same party, but didn't socialize.

Taylor Swift was intent on avoiding any controversy while partying it up in London, insiders say. While she and Kelce walked hand-in-hand, they weren't looking for any drama.

Princess Eugenie was celebrating her own good news, after revealing that she and her husband are expecting another child, and she and Princess Beatrice then also attended the Delevinge's bash. But if they had any hopes of partying the night away with the singer, it was not to be.

“Of course Eugenie and Beatrice would have loved to meet Taylor,” one source told Naughty But Nice. “But Taylor was having absolutely no part of it.”

Swift was apparently very aware of the tension surrounding the York sister because of their father, the former Prince Andrew's, ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

“Taylor is one of the smartest celebrities in the world when it comes to protecting her image,” another source claimed. “She didn’t want photographs, headlines, or even casual gossip linking her to royal controversy and Jeffrey Epstein.”

Insiders insisted Swift’s decision for the distance was not intended as a personal snub against the princesses.

“This wasn’t Taylor being rude,” the insider added. “She was polite to everyone, but she knows exactly what stories she wants attached to her name — and this wasn’t one of them.”

Of course, this isn't the first time when celebrities actively manage their public appearances and who they're associated with. And now that the fallout from the Epstein scandal has reached its peak, it seems as if Swift may have wanted to steer clear of the drama.

The royal family is still trying to manage the backlash because of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. He stepped back from royal duties in 2019, and King Charles stripped him of his titles last year.

Yet, the public's attention is still on his family, even though Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie did not have anything to do with their father's association. However, they're still feeling the burn.

Guests revealed that Kelce and Swift stayed within a close-knit group the whole evening.

“Taylor and Travis stayed close to friends all night,” one alleged guest told Shuter. “They were relaxed, affectionate, and very careful about who they interacted with.”

Over the years, Swift has become an expert in managing these kinds of events, keeping a tight leash on her celebrity associations.

While neither Swift or any spokesperson for the royal family commented on the reports, it seems as if Taylor knows how quickly a photo or comment can be misrepresented on social media.
