An X post about Kristi Noem's alleged affair.

Byron's extended family members have told the media outlet that they believed it was his "religious duty" to stand by his wife, regardless of any friction between the two.

A family member said that Bryon had decided two decades ago that "it was his calling from God to support her in whatever she decided to do."

As a result, Byron chose to endure the public scrutiny that followed, they said. The family member added, “We will see if he sticks with her now.”

Although the relatives acknowledged Bryon's dedication to his faith, they said that they feel there should be some limit to it.

The couple took their sacred vows in 1992 and have three children together. Family members say that tension has “simmered for years,” especially after her rumored affair with Lewandowski. Referring to the former DHS secretary, one relative said, “She despises the Noem family.”

Family members also pointed out that Bryon was determined to show solidarity with his wife as she faced questioning from lawmakers.

The relative added, “I actually liked that he sat behind her while she was grilled on the ICE atrocities. I think he’s ignored the reality. Maybe he has to face it now.” Noem, however, continues to face criticism over rumors of her relationship with Lewandowski.

'She's not the same girl'

According to a separate report by the New York Post, Noem was called to a hearing where Representative Sydney Kamlager-Dove asked her whether she was "having sexual relations" with Lewandowski.

Noem, however, dismissed the question as "tabloid garbage." Notably, she did not directly deny the allegations.

Representative Jared Moskowitz said, "I really think you need to say the word 'no' into the record so that you can clear that up." A relative said of the incident, "What gets me is she couldn't say no. When she's getting grilled about it, she couldn't say no."

"She's not the same girl," the family members said, and added that the couple was once close. The relative claimed that Bryon believes marriages are forever, and his close relationship with his children makes it more difficult for him to walk away.
