The mystery surrounding Nancy Guthrie is becoming even more heartbreaking as the case enters its 15th week with almost no major breakthroughs. The 84-year-old woman has now been missing for 105 days after vanishing from her Tucson, Arizona, home in the early hours of February 1 - and according to reports, investigators are still desperately trying to piece together what happened.

For this case, investigators appear to have very little physical evidence to work with. Reports claim investigators currently have a single strand of hair, a glove discovered near Nancy’s property and the now-infamous doorbell camera footage showing a masked and armed suspect tampering with the device shortly before Nancy disappeared.

But the surprising element is, despite the disturbing footage circulating on social media for weeks, no suspect has been identified. According to Irishstar, authorities have explored multiple possible leads connected to the footage, including tracking down people with similar backpacks and gun holsters; however, those efforts led nowhere. And now, a source close to the situation says the investigation has reached a deeply worrying standstill.

“There’s not one single lead since that footage was released. Although you don’t see his face, you can see his eyes, we know how tall he is, there’s a recognizable backpack….come on,” the source told Page Six. Behind the scenes, frustration is reportedly growing for Nancy’s loved ones, including her daughter, Savannah Guthrie.

Sources say the family is becoming increasingly frustrated over the lack of progres from both local law enforcement along with the FBI, as they still have few answers.

Meanwhile, the family has not hired a private investigator, but the $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest is still there. On the other hand, Chris Nanos, the sheriff leading the case, insists investigators are still making progress behind the scenes, even if the public has not seen much movement. Speaking to KOLD, Nanos revealed there is “absolutely” information investigators have intentionally kept secret.

“It's not done because we got to keep it secret. It's done because we got to protect our case,” he explained. Even with public anxiety growing, the sheriff said he still believes an arrest will eventually happen. “I believe at some point in time, we will make an arrest in this case. And whoever that individual is, that individual will have a right to a fair and impartial trial,” Nanos added.

Nancy Guthrie case has been ongoing for a long time.

The sheriff also acknowledged how difficult the long silence has been for the public and for Nancy’s devastated family. “There’s way too much work to be done, that is ongoing, with some of the physical evidence we have. And we’re not going to give up on it just because it’s been 100 days,” he told People. “But this is just like any other case. Sometimes it takes a long time.”

Still, as the days continue ticking by with no arrest and no sign of Nancy, the haunting doorbell footage remains one of the only clues in a case that has left both investigators and the public completely shaken. “When you have the best minds of the country working on problems, I think they're gonna solve them. It just takes time,” Nanos said.
