Prince William gets trolled after his video gaming habits are revealed.
Prince William Mocked Over Gaming Habit as Clip Sparks 'Is He a Child?' Comments
Prince William faced criticism on social media after a clip discussing his video gaming habits emerged on the internet, sparking debate about how much time he spends on royal duties.
In an episode of the YouTube series Talking Royals, journalist Chris Ship said William reportedly earns about £22 million annually as a working Royal for his role as a working royal. Ship was initially asked whether William’s eldest son, Prince George, is fond of playing video games. While the journalist was unsure about that, he did admit that George’s father has “been known to spend rather a lot of time” gaming.
However, the journalist also claimed that the Prince of Wales has a habit of playing video games for prolonged hours. This led to criticism of how much time he spends gaming, while earning a substantial income.
Social Media Users Slam Prince William
Journalist Chris Ship reveals about Prince William's video gaming habit.
But some social media users took it lightly and questioned what types of games he prefers. When Chris Ship was quipped on the kinds of video games that the future King prefers, he confessed that he did not have that information but speculated that he might be into something like FIFA or Grand Theft Auto.
Another panelist said that William had earlier confessed that his son, Prince George, does like to play video games, but the family keeps a close tab on his screen time and the duration he spends playing.
However, social media users were unhappy with how much William is paid for representing the U.K., while he also spends prolonged hours on video games.
One of the social media users stated, “22m per year? For what? Doesn’t surprise me. Probably some violent game too, when he’s done with leaking, harassing his brother through the media, or shouting at staff/wife for the day, he needs something else where he can be aggressive and violent.”
A User Compares William’s Privilege over Harry and Meghan
Social media users question about Prince William's productivity as a working Royal.
Another comment targeted William that read, “Is he a child? Yes, he is.” An X user pointed out how some Royal Family fans might still defend the Prince of Wales despite this revelation, while his younger brother, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, are scrutinized for all of their actions.
A comment read, “Just look at how they infantilize William and make it seem 'adorable’ that a man in his 40s spends all day playing video games rather than working. The British media coddles that man and his mediocre wife so much, it's actually disgusting. If they held him and his wife to the same standards, they would give Harry and Meghan, William wouldn’t dare be as lazy as he is, because it would be talked about all day, every day. Alas.”
Prince William is said to have come under the radar earlier, too, for his productivity as a working Royal. Meanwhile, his son, George, may have inherited his father’s interest in video games, but reportedly, his parents set strict boundaries for him and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, from travel protocols linked to the Royal succession to stringent limits on screen time.
