British police who are investigating former Prince Andrew are urging witnesses and possible survivors to come forward.

Authorities revealed that they are widening the ongoing investigation into him, and that they are not only looking into him allegedly sharing confidential government information during Andrew's years as the United Kingdom’s trade envoy.

Detectives now want to investigate allegations involving s*xu*l misconduct and abuse of position, per BBC.

Prince Andrew is facing additional charges.

UK police say that the investigation into Andrew is still active, but complex. But with the renewed appeal, investigators are making it clear that there may be more kinds of alleged misconduct than they first thought.

“Our misconduct in public office investigation is continuing. Misconduct in public office is a crime that can take different forms, making this a complex investigation,” Chief Constable Wright said.

Police also stressed that they want anyone with relevant information to feel comfortable about contacting authorities. They especially want possible victims or survivors who may fear public attention about the case to feel free to contact them.

“We hope that anyone with relevant information will come forward whenever they are ready to engage with us; our door is always open,” the force said.

Authorities revealed that they are looking into reports “that a woman was taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 for s*xu*l purposes.”

Police said they had spoken with the woman’s legal representative and that any formal complaint would be handled “with care, sensitivity and respect for her privacy and her right for anonymity.”

After the U.S. Justice Department released the Epstein files, the British authorities decided to launch an investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

British detectives worked with the U.S. Department of Justice and Britain’s National Crime Agency to get more relevant material for their investigation.

Prince Andrew denies wrongdoing

Prince Andrew facing new allegations.

Andrew was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The arrest was tied to his role as U.K. trade envoy between 2001 and 2011.

He was later released under investigation reported the news.

The former royal has consistently denied wrongdoing and has denied allegations connected to Epstein and Virginia Giuffre who claimed that she was trafficked to Andrew as a teenager.

Police made it clear that misconduct in public office was not a crime that only related to Andrew's work as a trade envoy, but it refers to wrongdoing while in that position. It can include different forms of wrongdoing, such as corruption, abuse of position, financial misconduct and s*xu*l misconduct.

Investigators are afraid that some witnesses may incorrectly believe that they are only looking into allegations tied to confidential trade documents and not possible crimes involving individual people.

“There is a risk that the victim survivors may be put off from contacting us because they feel the weight of public, national and international focus will be too much for them,” Wright said.

The UK media states that detectives are in regular contact with prosecutors from the Crown Prosecution Service and are continuing to collect evidence.

So far, there have been no formal charges, and the investigation could continue into 2027.
