Recent controversies surrounding Andrew Mountbatten Windsor have put the spotlight on the former royal's finances and assets.
'Explosive': Insider Reveals How Former Prince Andrew’s Will Could 'Expose' His Secret Wealth
The death of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, who is currently 66, might open a Pandora’s box of royal secrecy and skeletons in the closet when it comes to his finances, assets and the means he used to maintain a lavish lifestyle despite living in exile after being ousted from the royal family.
Andrew’s passing might bring to light his hidden finances and wealth, which have till now remained hidden from the public eye.
The former royal has often invited a lot of scrutiny when it comes to the ability of maintaining his lifestyle and the source of his finances, despite being stripped of all his royal titles by his elder brother, King Charles III, in October 2025, after Andrew's alleged ties with Jeffrey Epstein were brought to light.
How Andrew Became the Ultimate Royal Pariah
Andrew became controversy’s favorite child after his bombshell 2019 Newsnight interview, where he not only defended his former association with Epstein, but also denied allegations by the late s-x offender's victim, Virginia Giuffre, who claimed that she was allegedly trafficked to the former royal.
Reportedly, Andrew denied all allegations of any assault toward her and settled Giuffre's civil lawsuit with a purported $15 million out-of-court payout without confessing to liability.
However, ever since then, the chatter surrounding his finances and ability to maintain a lavish lifestyle despite being ousted from the royal family has only intensified.
A royal insider revealed to RadarOnline that the unraveling of Andrew’s will upon his passing could lead to the disclosure of one of the most explosive financial secrets.
'Andrew No Longer Occupies the Protected Status'
An X user calls out Andrew Mountbatten Windsor for allegedly wanting a taxpayer-funded security.
The insider said, “For years, there has been enormous curiosity about how Andrew continues to maintain his lifestyle after effectively being removed from public royal life. The assumption inside royal circles is that his will could finally expose the true state of his finances, his investments, his property arrangements, and exactly how wealthy he really is. What makes this especially explosive is that Andrew no longer occupies the protected status he once had as a senior working royal.”
The source added that even though royal wills are typically sealed to protect the sanctity of the institution, Andrew's will might not receive the same privilege because of his fall from grace due to the Epstein fiasco.
The insider added, “Traditionally, royal wills are sealed to preserve privacy and protect the dignity of the institution, but there is growing belief that Andrew's estate may not receive the same protection because of his changed status and the damage caused by the Epstein scandal."
This might also ignite a debate surrounding the protection of the royal wills, which has, for a long time, protected royal family members from scrutiny surrounding their wealth, assets and investments.
However, the former Duke of York’s case might take a different turn because he is no longer an official royal and has also estranged himself from the royal family.
Princess Diana’s will was infamously made public after her demise in August 1997, which revealed her wealth and the distribution of her estate. This was presumably because she was also no longer a member of the royal family at the time of her death after her divorce from the now-King Charles.
