Alan Osmond, the oldest member of the musical group The Osmonds, passed away at 76. He died Monday at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time. According to ABC4 Utah, a family spokesperson confirmed the news. It has also been revealed that Osmond’s wife and children were at his bedside when he died.
CBS affiliate KUTV reported that Osmond is survived by his wife of 51 years, Suzanne Pinegar, and 8 sons: Michael, Nathan, Doug, David, Scott, Jon, Alex, and Tyler. He reportedly also had 30 grandchildren. The late singer retired from performing after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 40 years ago.
The spokesperson shared an emotional memory of the singer, stating that “an ever-ready smile was ever prevalent” after meeting the entertainer. He said, “One might feel as though they had known him all their life. Others’ importance seemed to outshine his own, and he especially treasured the countless fans who supported the group.”

According to People, an official statement shared by Merrill read, “It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of my beloved brother, Alan Osmond. I was grateful to be with him shortly before he passed and to share a final meaningful moment together. Alan was a gifted creator, a man of faith, and a deeply loving soul whose life blessed many.”
He also expressed gratitude on behalf of his family for the outpouring of love and prayers. He added that they would continue to honor what mattered most to him, insisting that his loss is deeply felt and hard to put into words.
