Rep. Nancy Mace is one of the more prominent MAGA-aligned women in politics. While her political decisions and viewpoints generate strong public interest, this time, it was her fashion choices that became the focal point for everyone. According to Nicki Swift, most recently, Mace stunned at the first gubernatorial debate on April 2, 2026, where she competed closely with former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Kristi Noem.

The report suggests that Mace wore a burgundy pencil skirt, while the opposition men wore navy or black suits. Her outfit stood out, particularly its color choice. She paired her outfit with nude stilettos that also highlighted her defined calves.

The Nicki Swift report said that Mace’s latest appearance is a lesson for many MAGA women: things can be kept classy even when the skin is on full display. Among many, the report points to Noem as one of the MAGA women who should take notes, considering she has missed the mark on various occasions.

It was back in April 2024 that Noem wore a raspberry-colored dress with a slit in the back. Meanwhile, Mace kept it simple yet left a lasting impact. Several internet users praised Mace’s looks, with one user saying, “You get prettier every day, gorgeous southern belle.”

Notably, Mace may have come out ahead in the pencil skirt moment, but she has, at times, taken cues from the former secretary’s style.

Interestingly, the 48-year-old also hopped onto Noem’s infamous look. In January 2025, soon after Noem’s confirmation hearing and the start of her controversial raids, Mace posted on X to show support for Trump’s immigration agenda. She extended her message with a fashion inspired by Noem, opting for a tactical vest.

She had written alongside the post, “We’re not just talking about deporting illegal aliens — we’re out here seeing it in action for ourselves - firsthand.”

She further said, “South Carolina needs bold leadership to support President Trump’s America First agenda, deporting the bad guys and putting our people first. It helps to have sheriffs who work with ICE too.”

In March 2026, Mace pushed for an investigation into Noem over her controversial $220 million ad campaign, which featured her dressed in cowboy attire and riding a horse. According to The Hill, Mace also supported Trump’s decision to oust Noem from the DHS.

She said, “I don’t think she walks away from this, and she shouldn’t, because as Republicans, we need to hold our own accountable because President Trump is trying to re-instill trust in our institutions, in Congress, in the White House.” During the conversation, she also insisted on a subpoena issued by the Oversight Committee for her.

Noem was reassigned the role of special envoy for the Shield of the Americas, while Markwayne Mullin was announced as her replacement in March 2026 in a social media post shared by Trump. It came after reports of Noem's personal relationship with Corey Lewandowski and questions over aircraft spending during her tenure.
