‘ICE Barbie’ Kristi Noem’s ‘Made-Up’ Role Takes Hit After Husband’s Explosive Scandal
Former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Kristi Noem is going through a rough patch in her personal and professional life. It was only last month that she was removed from her position and reassigned as special envoy to the Shield of the Americas, which is being deemed as a “made-up post” by many. Amid ongoing tensions, a new report suggests growing concerns, as it has been suggested that Noem may be ousted from her new role soon.
According to The Daily Mail, Kristi Noem is rarely appearing at the office for her new role. The report suggests that at least four officials who were moved with her from DHS into the new role have been put on administrative leave by the White House. Questions are being raised about how long she will remain in the role. No wonder another ouster in such a short span would only bring her embarrassment.
Kristi Noem acknowledged her new role as Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas.
A State Department source reflecting on Noem’s new position said, “This post was intended as a soft landing so it didn’t look like Noem was immediately being fired. But no one really thinks she should have this job. The State Department was not happy to have her here, and the understanding is that she’s not going to be here much longer.”
The report further suggests that the 54-year-old is increasingly becoming more isolated in her new role, with even members of her already small team often absent from the office.
Kristi Noem's absence raises questions.
It has been claimed that Noem conducted only one meeting this week—and it was virtual, because the staff has either been reassigned within the State Department or was working remotely.
Even so, several staffers who came with her from DHS are reportedly unclear about their roles in the office, which was set up by Trump in March 2026 to tackle drug cartels. “The thing itself is still being figured out. It doesn’t make sense to just have a bunch of folks not really having a substantive role,” a Trump official shared with the outlet.
Meanwhile, Noem is said to have decorated her office with souvenirs from her time at DHS, including hats she wore while posing in different uniformed roles. In an explosive revelation, another source said that her office is being “shrunk to nothing” and is not expected to last longer. The source explained, “Noem’s stuff has been moved in there, but she never shows up. I don’t think it’s a real thing.”
Kristi Noem's husband Bryon Noem's lurid images broke the internet.
The ongoing professional tensions in Noem’s life coincide with an added personal scandal surrounding her husband, Bryon Noem. It was a few days back that The Daily Mail posted images of her husband as cross-dressing while wearing fake breasts and pink hot pants “to chat with online fetish models.” According to the New York Post, Noem’s representative responded to the explosive story, insisting that the family was “blindsided” by it and requested “privacy and prayers at the time.”
It was last month that Trump publicly announced Markwayne Mullin as Noem’s replacement on his social media while demoting her to special envoy to the Shield of the Americas.
