The 2026 White House Easter Egg Roll event not only drew attention for its notably bland guest list but also for a fashion faux pas by Melania Trump (55). While her husband, Donald Trump (79), was in high spirits and rang in the festivities with the children, Melania appeared to be wearing an ill-fitted outfit.

According to Nicki Swift, before handing the microphone to the First Lady, Trump repeated his joke about his wife being a “movie star.” Pretending not to be able to spot her at first, the President addressed her later and said, “I think this is our first lady. What do you think of our first lady? She's a movie star.”

The FLOTUS engaged in a book reading session with the kids about a bunny staying true to the theme of Easter. However, it was Melania’s outfit that was not so “joyful” and instead came across as rather ill-fitted and monotone.

The former model tried to complement her outfit with that of her husband, who had opted for a dark blue suit and a gray tie ensemble. The First Lady chose a tight-fitting white top, which was visible underneath a dark blue Annabeth Grain de Poudre Jacket by Ralph Lauren.

Melania left the blazer unbuttoned to flaunt the white shirt and the top of her high-waist cream-colored pants. However, her blazer appeared poorly tailored.

Furthermore, her Dolce & Gabbana pants looked drastically baggy and ill-fitted. Her pants were seen flapping in the wind as she walked, and were also found to be appeared poorly hemmed, nearly covering her white flats, making her look like a complete misfit as a whole.

The look might also arguably go down as one of her most underwhelming sartorial choices. Reacting to the look, one of the social media users also stated, “Soon to be white grass-stained pants.”

This was not the first time that the FLOTUS missed the mark with her Easter Egg Roll look. At the 2025 Easter Egg Roll occasion, Melania Trump sported a vanilla-colored leather trench coat from the fashion brand, Mackage.

The awkwardly bulky jacket served both as a dress and a coat for the First Lady, as the garments that she chose underneath were not visible. However, the look was a huge miss since it made Melania’s otherwise elegant frame look frumpy.

The former model went for a firmly tied belt in the midsection of the dress, which was probably the only stylish factor in the otherwise unimpressive look. The hem of the ensemble went down to her calves, and she completed the look with gray pumps. While the attire was still slightly a better choice as compared to her this year’s sartorial choice, it was still a disappointment with respect to the occasion.

Melania Trump had earlier committed a fashion blunder at the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event.

Melania Trump did not do any better a month later, after the 2025 Easter Egg Roll event, when she sported a button-up and skirt combination for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day at the White House.

She left some buttons undone and rolled the sleeves of her white top. The white skirt included a green bush-shaped pattern. The already deadpan look went further downhill when she chose a bizarre off-white belt for the entire outfit.
