Megyn Kelly shares her opinion on Donald Trump allegedly falling asleep during Cabinet meetings.

On Tuesday, May 26, Kelly posted on X in defense of Trump falling asleep during daytime events.

She shared a Mediaite article highlighting a recent television appearance by Dr. Jonathan Reiner, CNN’s medical analyst, who provided a critical health assessment of the president before Trump underwent his third medical checkup in 13 months.

In the report, Reiner cited Trump’s apparent inability to stay awake during certain meetings and public events, offering a serious perspective on the observations.

“The president has severe daytime somnolence. He falls asleep very often,” Reiner said during a CNN broadcast, noting that the president has allegedly nodded off on multiple occasions while people were speaking to him in the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room.

“There was concern yesterday that he might have fallen asleep at Arlington National Cemetery during Memorial Day observances,” Reiner added.

Daytime somnolence, which can stem from chronic insomnia, refers to excessive daytime sleepiness. The medical analyst noted that persistent sleep issues in older adults comes with an “increased risk of dementia and heart attacks.”

The medical analyst called it a “real problem” and demanded an explanation from the White House on the same.

Kelly, however, joked that the commander-in-chief allegedly falling asleep during a meeting is now a part of his routine.

“I love how Trump occasionally nodding off has got to be some secret, scary medical issue (obviously they’re raising his fitness for office),” the former Fox News anchor stated, adding, “Maybe it’s just that he doesn’t sleep much at night and these events are… kinda long/dry/not that scintillating?”

While medical experts expressed concern over his health indicators, Trump has previously dismissed the claims, attributing his occasional drowsiness to exceptionally lengthy or tedious briefings.

In a past interview with the New York Magazine, the president recounted sitting through grueling, multi-hour sessions with dozens of officials, noting that he remains aware of the discussion even when closed-eyed.

“I’m hearing every word, and I can’t wait to get out,” Trump stated.

'How About We Stop Electing Old People'

Kelly’s post quickly went viral, drawing plenty of comments from social media users who shared their views in the same, while also bombarding the platform with their own critiques of the administration.

One user wrote, “He’s an old decrepit dementia ridden psychopath that’s turning our country into a to a dumpster fire.”

Another user added, “The President who questioned his predecessor's fitness for office by constantly referring to him as 'Sleepy Joe' now regularly nods off in public.”

An individual opined, “He wouldn't let Biden off the hook for it, why should we? What's fair is fair. How about we stop electing old people who don't represent the image of strength America deserves?”

“Was that part of his campaign talking points as to his physical energy for a demanding job? Double standard w sleepy joe,” noted one user.

Another user commented, “I cant afford the energy loss to fight with their ai to make proper ones, I have to make due with rudimentary ones.”
