President Donald Trump is set to have a medical checkup -- his third visit to the medical center in just 13 months.
The news has added to online speculation regarding his age and fitness. Though White House officials emphasize that the appointment is routine, the situation continues to draw scrutiny as critics frequently dissect his public appearances for signs of physical decline.
Typically, a president undergoes a physical examination once a year, but with Trump making more frequent visits, the situation has caught the attention of the public.

According to the White House press pool, which shared Trump’s schedule for Tuesday, May 26, the president is scheduled to undergo a health checkup.
The medical examination will take place at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
The White House shared in a statement that Trump’s visit to the medical center will include his “annual dental and medical assessments as part of his regular preventive health care.”
It also mentioned that the president will spend time with service members and staffers at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in recognition of their “service, professionalism, and dedication to the nation.”
The reports have already drawn scrutiny because Trump has visited a dentist twice this year — first in January 2026 and earlier this month in a follow-up, according to reports.
With the commander-in-chief turning 80 next month and becoming the oldest serving president, the scheduling is raising speculation about his well-being.
In October 2025, during another physical examination of Trump — which he called a “semiannual” visit — the White House initially declined to specify the exact parameters of his care, according to Newsweek.
The visit included routine tests, as well as an MRI scan and lab tests.
