Meghan Markle Accused of Using Prince Harry Anniversary Photo Dump to Take a Jibe at Senior Royals

Meghan Markle celebrated her eighth wedding anniversary with Prince Harry on Tuesday, May 19, by sharing a series of intimate wedding photographs on Instagram.

She gave fans a rare glimpse into their 2018 royal wedding and private reception at Frogmore House. The post included several previously unseen moments from their special day.

However, royal insiders were quick to question the way the tribute was presented.

Despite the day being a celebration of the duke and duchess’ wedding, royal insiders claimed the carefully selected images appeared to deliberately keep senior members of the royal family out of focus because of Markle's alleged feud with them.

Markle and Harry’s lavish wedding ceremony at St George’s Chapel was watched by nearly 1.9 billion people worldwide and was attended by famous celebrity guests, including Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham, and George Clooney.

Yet, when Markle shared the images on Instagram for her anniversary, it appeared that she had shared a collection of carefully selected photos that omitted the royals, seniors and most guests.

Apart from a brief image of King Charles III walking Markle down the aisle, the pictures mostly skipped the attendees.

This led a royal source to confide in RadarOnline, “What immediately stood out to people connected to royal circles was how carefully edited and curated the anniversary posts appeared to be.”

“There was a noticeable absence of senior royals in photographs from what was ultimately one of the biggest state occasions the monarchy had staged in years,” the insider stated.

“A lot of observers have interpreted that as Meghan deliberately reframing the memory of the wedding around the people she personally feels loyal to now, rather than the institution and family that surrounded the event at the time,” the source added.

The insider went on, “Among some palace insiders, there's a belief that the post was far more loaded than a simple anniversary tribute.”

“By centering the images around celebrity guests, close confidantes, intimate moments with Harry, and her own mother, while barely acknowledging the royal family, it was viewed by some as a symbolic statement about where the Sussexes now place their emotional allegiance,” the source claimed.

The source further stated, “Whether Meghan intended it to come across that way or not, many people inside the royal household felt the message was unmistakable. It comes across as a massive dig at them, really.”

Meanwhile, as royal sources accused Markle of sharing carefully curated image on the occasion of her wedding anniversary, one source highlighted how the ceremony was actually marked by emotional turmoil.

Speaking with RadarOnline, the source mentioned that the tensions behind the glamorous wedding were so severe that it left the future duchess "sobbing on the bathroom floor.”

Turns out, during the final days before the wedding, Markle had a bitter argument with Catherine, Princess of Wales, over the latter's daughter Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

The source noted, “There's a tendency for people to only remember the spectacle and glamour of the wedding itself, but Markle was dealing with an extraordinary level of pressure behind closed doors.”

“She was preparing to marry into one of the most intensely scrutinized families on the planet while every detail of her appearance, behavior, and relationships was being dissected globally,” the insider said.

“People close to the situation say there were moments where the emotional strain of trying to navigate royal expectations, family tensions, and relentless media attention became incredibly overwhelming for her,” the source added.

The source went on, “What started as a disagreement over bridesmaids' dresses quickly became much bigger because emotions were already stretched to breaking point on all sides. Meghan felt totally isolated and hurt by how the situation unfolded, particularly because she was already under enormous stress in the final days before the ceremony.”

“The clash over the dresses ended up representing deeper issues that were quietly developing within the family dynamic long before the public became aware of the fractures between Harry and the rest of the royals,” the insider noted.
