'Man Without a Conscience': Matthew Perry’s Grieving Mother Lashes Out at Assistant for Abetting Fatal Addiction
Matthew Perry’s mother, Suzanne Morris, penned a stinging letter to her late son’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, ahead of the latter's sentencing in the case of the Friends alum’s tragic death.
Iwamasa is one of the individuals facing charges in connection with Perry’s demise.
According to the letter, which has obtained by TMZ, Morris had an emotional and raging message for Iwamasa, where she accuses him of being responsible for Perry’s death.
What is Kenneth Iwamasa Accused of?
Matthew Perry's assistant Kenneth Iwamasa has been accused of injecting the late actor with ketamine.
The assistant of the late actor has been accused of allegedly aiding Perry to secure Ketamine. Iwamasa is also said to have injected the late actor with Ketamine on the day of his death -- October 28, 2023.
Morris wrote, “My name is Suzanne. I am also Momma-Mooma, the name my son Matthew gave me. The name I loved to hear for all those years... He was Matso, my Manew.”
Remembering the circumstances surrounding the Fools Rush In actor’s death, his mother said, “He was, in spite of all we went through, my heart and soul. And then one night he was just a body, lying all but n**** on the cold, damp grass of his backyard.”
She added, “Helicopters circled overhead, eager for a glimpse of my dead little boy, a picture they could show the whole world while I stood out on the street in the cold and begged for a blanket to cover him. Impossible, of course.”
Morris recalled visiting her son’s mortal remains in the mortuary, stating, “He had been bathed and dressed” and “looked almost beautiful and somehow relieved.”
Describing her late son’s battle with drug addiction all his life, she wrote, “Matthew fought for half his life – more than half – against addiction. Fought and failed and came back to fight again.”
'My Son Paid the Price'
An X post on a sentencing related to the case of Matthew Perry's death.
Morris wrote that Perry had known Iwamasa for 25 years, which made him and his parents trust the staffer.
She stated, “He had known Kenny, and so had we, for 25 years. Mathew trusted Kenny. We trusted Kenny. Kenny’s most important job – by far – was to be my son’s companion and guardian in his fight against addiction.”
The grieving mother said that Iwamasa's primary responsibility was to prevent The Whole Nine Yards actor from falling prey to his drug addiction again.
She added, “His number one responsibility – ensure that Matthew remained what he wanted to be: drug free. Kenny knew, should he feel unduly pressured, that with one phone call to any number of the people in Matthew’s orbit, reinforcements would be on the way, and his job would be safe.”
Instead, Morris said that Iwamasa “aided and abetted” in her son’s drug addiction.
The late actor’s mother alleged that the assistant “arranged for one source of supply, then another. Shot the drugs into Matthew’s body, though he was not in the least qualified.”
She claimed that Iwamasa did the same repeatedly.
Stating the incident where she felt the most betrayed by Iwamasa, Morris wrote, “And when he had killed my son, he kept a sharp eye on me. He sent me songs, he drew a little map to help me find my way around the cemetery.”
Morris recalled that Iwamasa insisted on speaking at Perry’s funeral and also clung to her.
On a concluding note of the emotional letter, she said, “We trusted a man without a conscience, and my son paid the price. Nothing takes this pain away, nor will it, I am sure, for as long as I live.”
