The house was severely burned.

The elder resident of the home was identified as the 40-year-old victim's mother.

"This brings us to 15 (deadly fires) for the year," Cleveland Fire Public Information Officer Lieutenant Mike Norman told News 5 Cleveland. "Ya know, we are on base to have our most deadly year since 2006 when we had over 20 fire fatalities, we just gotta get the word out to people. This house did not have working smoke alarms."
