President Donald Trump recently hosted a White House event on American agriculture and promised attendees that he was ushering in “the golden age” for the agricultural industry. However, it was a certain golden centerpiece, parked in the middle of the lawn, that stole the spotlight at the event. Social media users are beyond intrigued, to say the least.

On March 27, around 800 farmers from across the country gathered at the White House South Lawn, as Trump discussed new policies aimed at providing relief. Trump spoke to the farmers and shared his plans to reduce costs amid rising energy prices. He also claimed that the administration would increase loan guarantees for farming equipment such as tractors.

Further, he said that he told the head of John Deere, the leading American manufacturer of agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, that he was removing the “horrible chains placed on tractor suppliers.”

Donald Trump Impressed With 'Beautiful' Golden Tractor

The POTUS then noticed a gold tractor on display on the South Lawn. “That’s a beautiful tractor. That’s a gold tractor. Somebody had me in mind. What’s that all about? That’s a h‑ll of a tractor. I’m looking at this,” Trump said, evidently impressed with the vehicle.

According to Atlanta Black Star News, it was a gold‑wrapped Fendt 1167 Vario tractor, made in Germany by AGCO. Many Cabinet members and governors signed on to it as well. Trump also praised a red, white, and blue tractor but reiterated that it was the gold Fendt that “hit” him.

After completing his speech, Trump danced to “Y.M.C.A.” by the Village People as it blared over the loudspeakers. The 79‑year‑old pumped his fists in the air happily while people in attendance cheered him on.

Social Media Reacts to Donald Trump's White House Party

News and footage from Trump’s party soon made waves on social media platforms. Several users expressed shock and confusion over what they were seeing on their feeds, as the U.S.‑Israeli war on Iran continues amid rising global tensions. Others disapproved of Trump’s dance and found it in poor taste, given that the average American citizen was struggling with their finances amid the escalating conflict.

“Please let this be a joke,” said one user. Someone else commented, “Didn’t he [expletive] the cattle farmers over, and now he’s bringing out a golden tractor?” “‘We make the most beautiful machines’ to a German Machine,” noted a third person, pointing out Trump’s statement from his speech.

Somebody else said, “He doesn’t realize it’s not American, but as long as it’s tacky, gaudy gold he doesn’t give a [expletive].” Another social media user expressed shock, saying, “I’m surprised the farmers aren’t complaining about the fertilizer prices increasing because of the war in Iran!”

“The farmers are having a hard time and he makes jokes???” commented another person, while yet a different user packed his comment with laughing emojis and wrote, “I can’t bro…this man is unreallllll.”

On Threads, one person shared an image of the people attending the event, many of whom were wearing cowboy hats. “What’s more American than a President dancing to ‘YMCA’ in front of a crowd of reporters and people wearing cowboy hats on the South Lawn of the White House with a big Gold Tractor sitting nearby?” they wrote.

“While food disappears from store shelves and prices increase, Trump addresses struggling farmers next to a gold‑plated tractor,” said yet another user.

The incident has amplified criticism of the administration’s priorities, with many arguing that the golden display clashes with the realities of inflation and the ongoing war‑driven economic strain faced by ordinary Americans.
